I'm biased I admit, I hate long range combat with a passion, someone on Entropy wanted to see how his guns performed at 100km, so I turned on the medium repairer II and went to read the forums, that's how interesting I think fighting at those ranges is. The only reason people die at those ranges is serious focus fire. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Removed bit that was a bit flammy, just think this is a horrible idea. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I think that most NPC-shooting BS users would like that option. --

Not really, however I'd welcome the 5km option when NPC hunting
I agree with dalman/Gariuys as usual, though. No thanks.

Originally by: Rthor Lets not get sidetracked by suggestion of the 5km option to warp to another ship. That is not what I am asking at all.
Obviously there are implications on game balance with 60km+ warp, which I why I dont advocate any specific distance.
I am slightly tired of smug interceptor pilots who can easily get to my ship whether I warp 15 or 60 km from a gate. They have speed. Why cant I have the option to warp in so far away from them to have time to toast their asses with my new ubersniper anti matter 425 railguns while they try to close in?
Because thats what CCP is tryubg to reinforce to make bs's travel in small fleets at least with a scouting frigate.
And anyway atm if even 2 intie mwd to you and warp scramble you without any bs near( in warp scrmbling range) you launch drones, kill the inties and warp out.

how about making it ship dependant? i.e. that a tempest or typhoon can warp in at 80 and 100 but the other ships can't?
