Edited by: Cryten Jones on 24/11/2008 11:23:57 Edited by: Cryten Jones on 24/11/2008 11:23:44 With the new movable control doughnut It seems to me that we are one tiny step from multi monitor support. I am sure this has been said before but I will say it anyway.
can we please have a 'origin' marker like you have for the targets bar that lets us set the location on screen where the ship it drawn.
If we had this we could simply edjust the field of view so that the ship and camera pivot would be slightly off center. If you think of the spanned screen all you want is to have the centre point be 75% from the right edge rather than the default 50%.
I have no idea how hard this is technicaly but it seems like a very eligant solution for a logical point of view.
Anyway, here's hoping!!

Since day one (when Dual screen was an option in EvE's settings) we have wanted proper dual monitor support.
If you think about it as we are now today you can span your EvE client over two screens, you can move the overview, chat windows and now as of QR we can even move the cap doughnut to one side of the 'screen' or the other so you can have all your chats, overview and targets on one monitor.
The missing thing that as we are the ship will be split down the middle of the two screen....which sucks.
If we were allowed to move the 'origin' point for the ship left and right like we can now do with the CAP etc we could finaly have ship, cap and modules on one screen and all other windows on te other one.
Not sure if this makes it clearer or not...

I'm with you here, man. Even though I only use one screen at the moment. The shoulder-camera thing for Ambulation shows that the CCP people CAN do good camera work. Enabling us to change the location of where the ship gets centered would be awesome.
I used to use two screens before I got myself my current 30" Dell. So I know how much of a PITA this is.
A -lot- of the stuff said in the "On the cutting edge" Fanfest video sounds promising, though.

God wish I had the $ for a 30"!
All it needs is the same little marker as the target icon list has so you can move the place where the center of screen is and blammo...
Also...fan fest vids...err where !! Been waiting for the official ones, did I miss them?

Signed... PLEASE OH PLEASE bring true multiscreen support. I know it can be sorta forced right now, but it's really crappy that way.
Eve is a beautiful game and I'd love to be able to see the pretty explosions without constantly having to move local, alliance chat, corp chat, fleet chat, and intel, overview, drones control, and weapons all over the place

We've been asking for this for years CCP. You got it partly right allowing us to re-position the GUI, now if the cam viewpoint can be changed, it will complete the job.
With the new plans to scrap local and re-vamp the scanner, even more of our screen real estate is going to be lost. We really need the dual display now.

Only one issue... Price At 300+ Uk pounds just for the Matrox device to do it, (that's without the monitors that all have to be the same and with a narrow border for it to be effective), it's way over the top price-wise for a gaming setup. You're looking at nearly 700 quid just for the 3 screen display including monitors (call it 570 excluding the screen you have already assuming it has a narrow border).
Dual screen is good, costs are marginal and can be done using any modern standard graphics card. It's also supported by the OS so no need for extra driver software than you would have with a single screen.

Ok so now I have seen the Fan fest video's where they are shoing EvE on two large wide screens and this makes even MORE sense... I just don't understand why no people there asked the logical question..
"That's all great bit the screen splits the ship in half"
