Aha, that reminds me, I should probably explain how pre-caching works, just in case .
What pre-caching is: Via the precache.php script, it allows your OOE website to pre-load all of your API data. The primary benefit of this is that when you're actually browsing the site, you don't have to wait while we fetch API data from CCP's servers - the data will generally all be available straight away.
How to use it: Firstly, enabling it is a two-part process. By default, this functionality is disabled. The precach.php script will not execute unless you enable it in your config file (see config.def.php).
You also have to select which accounts you want to be pre-cached - this is done via the account settings on the website itself. Note than only the currently selected character for the account will be cached - we don't want to completely destroy CCP's servers with *too* many requests .
Lastly, you need to set up a cron or similar task, to hit the precache.php script. I'd recommend setting it on an hourly schedule (the bigger API requests all have caching times greater than one hour anyway).
That's all. You'll then start to notice things like the journal, transactions, assets, etc., all loading a fair bit quicker.

Edited by: Rilwar on 11/07/2009 02:27:15 I added a link to trigger the precache via the usermenu, I'm not sure how useful it would really be for most people who aren't loading a lot of API's at once, but if you do and don't have need to keep the cache updated all the time via cron, this solution just adds simplicity.
Replace contents of \plugins\users\templates\side_logged_in.html >
<div class="header">User - {$user.username}</div> <div class="body"> <div class="menu"> <ul> <li><a href="{$site_url}/?module=users&mode=edit"><img src="{$site_url}/eveimages/icons/{if $user.smallicons}16{else}32{/if}/icon74_15.png" align="absmiddle" /> Preferences</a></li> </ul> <ul> <li><a href="{$site_url}/?module=users&mode=accounts"><img src="{$site_url}/eveimages/icons/{if $user.smallicons}16{else}32{/if}/icon07_04.png" align="absmiddle" /> Manage EVE accounts</a></li> </ul> <ul> <li><a href="{$site_url}/precache.php" target="_blank"><img src="{$site_url}/eveimages/icons/{if $user.smallicons}16{else}32{/if}/icon07_16.png" align="absmiddle" /> Precache</a></li> </ul> <ul> <li><a href="{$site_url}/?logout=1"><img src="{$site_url}/eveimages/icons/{if $user.smallicons}16{else}32{/if}/icon09_13.png" align="absmiddle" /> Log out</a></li> </ul> </div> </div>
{if $noAccount} <div class="menuNote"> <img src="{$site_url}/templates/{$theme}/images/note.png" align="left" alt="Note" class="icon" /> Take a minute to set your Preferences, which among other things, will allow you to specify your time zone. This is useful if you'd rather see times displayed in your local time, rather than EVE time (GMT). <br /><br /> Before you can view your character details, you need to add your EVE account using "Mange EVE Accounts". If you have multiple EVE accounts, you may associate them all with your user, allowing you to access all your accounts and characters quickly and easily. </div> {/if}

Azazel, I'm working on modding the ships page to include a simple textarea for exporting the fit to EFT, I'm positively horribad with PHP, but so far I've gotten it working, thank god EFT doesn't care what order the mods are in the clipboard in.
Once I get it cleaned up and tested more I'd like to shoot it over to you to have a gander and see if it's somthing you'd like to integrate into the project, lemmie know what ya' think. -------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Ramov Tinoga on 28/07/2009 09:32:18 Thanks Azazael for Out of EVE!
I've extended this fantastic application with a small add-on: Sortable Tables
Using the "sorttable" javascript by Stuart Langridge, and small edits to (for example the orders plugin)
outofeve/templates/eve/index.html:
<script src="{$site_url}/includes/javascript/sortable.js" type="text/javascript"></script> (add line to header section)
outofeve/plugins/orders/templates/orders.html:
<table width="100%" border="0" class="sortable" id="orders"> (modify existing table tags)
Pros: Sortable Tables! Yay! Rejoice! Cons: Only works with the template I edited and only for plugins I've added the table attributes.

For those of you using a cool browser like Firefox you can get this add-on which will add filtering and sorting to almost any HTML table. It will also let you copy and paste out the data in several formats as well. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for Eve API.

Hello, one of the most useful web app to use with eve! Got a nasty bug which prevent me to correctly use OOE since the last 1.6ap.
Production Costs -> I choose a BPO and in the list given the app always count Industry skill cost for every run.
This ruins all my research for prod costs.
Hope it will be fixed soon!

I am looking into this application and playing with on a test host.
There are some files and folders (like /cache folder and keypass file) that you suggest to put somewhere not reachable from the web. There is an alternative to this that is completely transparent to users - add .htaccess files in the distribution that will prohibit web users from accessing something they are not supposed to.
The /cache and its subfolders should contain the .htaccess with the following content:
Quote: deny from all ErrorDocument 404
The simplest way to block the access to the keypass file is to put it in the separate directory (/include maybe, as all of its contents can be made protected) and create the .htaccess with the same content as above.

And an additional request: can you list somewhere which tables from the eve datadump are needed? The complete data dump is rather big =\ and not very friendly to the hosting with the only phpmyadmin available and a 16mb restriction on the imported datadumps.

I recently moved changed webhosts, and my new webhost has the MySQL server set to be case-sensitive for queries, and my existing DB dump was all lowercase, and OOE uses the proper capped names, so right now I believe I have the full list; it might be missing somthing, but you'll find out quickly enough what ones are missing if pages look funny, just select all and copy/paste into a text editor so you can see MySQL errors that are normally hidden behind the top banner.
Anyway,

Is there anyway to use the showinfo module as a standalone tool, so that it doesn't require you to be logged in to use it? (ie, going to http://x/?module=showinfo&popup=1&typeId=634 works when your logged in. But doesn't work if your not logged in.) When I want quick item info and know the ID, it's annoying to login for just that.
Thanks!

Could anyone tell me which file actually "writes" the RSS feeds? I tried to replace them with something else for more than 2 hours now, but seems like I just can't figure it out.
I'm aware that the actual output into a html file is done via the respective index.html, but I'm looking for the file that defines this: <div id="main"> {$content} </div>

Awesome App, running it with XamPP on my own machine right now.
Just two questions, things.
I know if it is hosted on a website and accessible for everyone, databases would bloat up like crazy. So I understand the caching, but is there a way to change from caching data into storing it in a mysql db?

if your having problems uploading sql files, there's a small program that can split the file into whatever size files you like.

- alliance list (lists all alliances) - alliance details (lists member corps for an alliance etc etc) - standings (lists all alliance standings)
Soon to be added

I have been having problems with mine. When loading the manufacturing tab, I am getting in the whitespace a spam about something missing that goes the entire page, but I can see my current jobs still, it's just in the white space the error shows up but cannot read it fully because its covered.
Also I am unable to force the corporate information to show up at all. When I tried to set it up it said that the corporation parts of the install were missing. Once that error popped up, I am no longer able to even view the selection that gives me the option of what corporate info is displayed.

Edited by: Lady Tsuki on 19/10/2009 20:37:27 When attempting to activate the Corporate Options via the "Manage Accounts" I get the following error:
Quote: Array ( [errorInfo] => Array ( [0] => 42S02 [1] => 1146 [2] => Table 'oouk.showmenus' doesn't exist ) [sql] => SELECT * FROM showmenus WHERE account_id = 1 ORDER BY id ) Array ( [errorInfo] => Array ( [0] => 42S02 [1] => 1146 [2] => Table 'ooukdump.crproles' doesn't exist ) [sql] => select roleBit, roleName from crpRoles order by roleBit )
The error with the Science and Industry tab that displays in the background has the following:
Quote: "Array ( [errorInfo] =>Array ( [0] => 42S02 [1] => 1146 [2] => Table 'ooe.showmenus' doesn't exist ) [sql] => SELECT * FROM showmenus WHERE account_id = 1 ORDER BY id )
It spams that for a bunch of different tables. Now from what I can tell I imported the database but it did NOT import them all for some reason. I have resorted to manually installing piece by piece the missing tables but it sucks to do that.
**Note** Upon manual review of the contents of http://eve.no-ip.de/apo120/apo120-mysql5-sql-v1/ and its bz2 counterpart, the tables that are throwing the error simply don't exist in the MySQL Dump all together. Why are tables missing entirely from this?

You need to read the install instructions properly.
You need to read the install instructions properly.
Your missing tables are not part of the DB dump, there is a separate SQL file in the install package to make another table for OOE, OOE requires it's own table as well as the DB dump.
Out of EVE table looks like this;
account crproles invorereprocessing mineralprice ramcompletedstatuses showmenus user

You should upgrade to the latest version, the error popup box is now closeable, so you can read **** easier.
The 2nd part of your problem will be resolved if you read my post above this one, the one about reading the install instructions. -------------------------------------------------
