Silvery Delight,
I agree, the old 'Tutorial' agents definitely helped a lot to repair or boost Faction standings. Option 2 of this proposal would make those agents a lot more viable for both new and old players.
Thank you for giving support to this proposal.

Option 2 looks good to me. +1
I do wish that I had known about the "Endless Battle" mission when I started.
Ah well, too late now, but a good idea for new pilots.

Jaxon Grylls,
Yeah, most of the Event Agents within the game don't get a lot of publicity. It's a shame really, especially since there's a very good story plot written in with them.
Thanks for supporting this proposal.

I totally support this. I'm new to Eve (3 weeks now) & never got to experience these agents & missions. I can tell you with the current setup after finishing the Aura & Career agents I was totally lost. It was a serious "now what" moment. I knew the basic "mechanics" of the basics. I didn't (& probably still don't) understand the political mechanics & undertones between factions. I had to search around wikis to figure out where to go. I think there is a HUGE gap after the career agents. I really enjoyed up to the career agent point, then I almost quit. I forced myself through the steep learning curve & I "think" I'm headed in the right direction at this point.
Anything to help new players (like myself) with the intimidation factor of this game is a good thing.
P.S. I'm still trying to figure out how to crack the whole storyline thing. I did one Sister of Eve "Epic Arc", but now no-one wants to talk with me. I think I've read I get only 1 storyline quest for ever 16 grinding missions. Seriousely!? Is there a good story to this game? I hope it's not just grinding. |

Michael Tiernan,
Thanks for showing support for this proposal and welcome to Eve.
I understand your situation and agree that the game basically places you into the deep end with no direction after the level 1 SoE Epic Arc.
For a good story plot within this game you might want to check out some of the other Event Agents. I have most of them listed in 'The Plan' along with some tips and guide links.
Try not to get discouraged. This game get's a lot better after you've put in some time.

Came across this thread by accident - Great idea that I fully support.
I cannot believe that CCP has left this idea to gather dust the way it has.
I must admit that when I first started I flew through the early & ended up by-passing the later tutorial missions - all I wanted to do then was get out & shoot stuff. I am not sure if this particular mission was on offer or not.
When I started some more characters down the track I actually did the tutorial type missions, the SoE epic arc & some other missions (event?) - even though I breezed through these I did learn a lot about the lore of Eve & actually grew to appreciate the game even more. I gather that's the thrust of your proposal.
Given proper rewards & incentives more people would no doubt do these missions & quite possibly understand the game better & even stick around!
Keep up the fight. |

I vote for Option #2, it makes good sense to have that type of tutorial balance and the chance also once again to start improving standings in enemy faction territory in what seems a quicker route than what there is presently. |

Zonaxion,
I agree and thanks for showing support.
The original, albeit wrongly named 'Tutorial Agents' were an integral part of the Faction Standing Repair Plan. Despite CCP removing those agents from the game, 'The Plan' is still the fastest way to repair negative standings.
Thanks again for posting.

I was just thinking if CCP expanded on the new Burner Missions and made them available in various levels, they could be offered by these Agents every few months for Faction standing increase, like the Epic Arcs.
Just food for thought.

When it comes to things like expanding the burner missions we've asked as well.
When it comes to the tutorial missions, CCP Rise gave a good presentation at how they are working to bring players in and get them informed without a bunch of theme park style missions that don't prepare them for the game.
Eve Vegas 2014 - The New Player Experience
When it comes to bringing back old content some things are more broken then others but the PvE team has been working towards this area. More missions are always good. We need better then what we have and better accessibility. Escalations where just fixed for Phoebe for instance. However, Eve's old mission mechanics are poor to be kind.

This proposal is not intended to replace or even be remotely related to the NPE.
This proposal is about bringing back and expanding on content that was previously available in the game. Content that worked great and could have been easily updated instead of being removed from the game.
Each of the original 60 'Tutorial Agents' (wrongly named) were retired and replaced by the Aura NPE Agent. After a short while Aura NPE became the 'Meet & Greet' Tutorial in the Captains Quarters. The Aura NPE Agents, located in the various stations previously occupied by the wrongly named original 'Tutorial Agents', were then removed.
Now all of those stations are empty and lonely, located in dead-end systems that players rarely ever visit. Reviving and expanding the original content could help make those systems more active by offering more PvE content for everyone, both new and veteran player alike.
These new 'Political Agents' could even offer Burner Missions, however that's a topic for another thread.

I'm more saying that revival should be thought of as rebirth vs refinishing.

Good point and I agree.
Option 2 of this proposal would not only revive, it would also be a rebirth of the original content. Content that both new and veteran players can enjoy.
