Nope. It has Highs, but no Turrets. Unless you consider drones a 'mining device'.

I'm curious as to how the Moon exploit had ANY bearing on having the QEN released on time. EyjoG claimed the QEN would be out a week before the exploit was announced, and two days before the exploit had been reported...
...so... how is that an excuse? "Sorry guys, the QEN is delayed even longer, because the exploit that caused trouble the WEEK AFTER I claimed I would release it has delayed me further."

With all the delays...
I'm worried that the guy that puts these together just isn't interested in doing them and lacks motivation.
If this is the case no matter how good he is, someone thats motivated will almost always produce a far better QEN product! *********** Dasfry, Director Demio's Corporation

I think the delays come because the POS exploit, and Dr.EyjoG need to do the datamining to get out the details, how was the economy impacted, etc..

Then how come the QEN for the second quarter of 2008 is being released over six months late? The Starbase exploit certainly wasn't an issue at the beginning of the summer. The starbase exploit was also not an issue on December 5th when EyjoG claimed the QEN would be released. In fact, the petition for the exploit was not sent to CCP for a full two days after that date. Any claims this man makes about the starbase exploit having delayed his work are total lies. The exploit had nothing to do with it. He's lazy and doesn't give a crap about doing this work. There's actually no other way to look at it when the facts are considered.

I think you're being a bit harsh. If EyjoG had nothing other to do that the QENs you might have had a point. But he also handles the CSM and who knows what else internally within CCP. In all probability he's now handling this exploit thing. I would also not be surprised that the two team members he has now have only been recently added to his team.
It is a matter of priorities though. What I read from the delays is that the QENs just aren't that high on the priority list. With the exploit thing going on, I don't mind that, but we could have been told that. It just works better to be open about it then to just leave it linger. -- Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

If it was a bit too harsh, then maybe you can explain to me how many people hold jump freighter BPO's, Rorqual BPO's etc.
The problem is that, although EVE's market is controlled at it's top by a select few, it has effects upon everyone who plays the game.
So... hmmm... who might the most monumental people be to this game? Now... what report provides benefit to these select few?
Hmmm... I'm sure you could find your ammunition, charges, ships and the like elsewhere, right? Not like anyone builds those for you....
See, that's my problem. EyjoG creates a report which benefits (and helps streamline the operations of) a select few, who - as fact would have it - provide the services to the world of EVE that keep itself running.
Please, describe to me how you would wage a war without ammunition? That's a pretty impossible task.
My problem is the fact that his man's job - as defined in a post of his own writing in fact encompasses this area solely. That being said, how is this not in demand? Because most builders don't ***** and moan like I do? Perhaps I work in a workplace where I'm sick and tired of people being too incompetent to pull their own weight. Perhaps I don't want to see this replicated problem exist within a system where I normally pay to mess around with. THAT is my problem. A man is paid to do - in effect - a lot of nothing. He's an economist. This is actually what he is supposed to do for a living. Now, if I were to attempt to get paid for shoving a thumb so far up my ass that I choke on my own thumbnails, I'd expect to be fired as well.
The problem is that we're all, in essence, paying for this lack of service. That ****es me off, as this useless hunk of dog**** has yet to even post in the forums, saying "I'm sorry, I was too busy thumbing my own ******* thinking of my instantaneous popularity since the post of my second QEN." Unfortunately, most of us can't live on this fame. QEN or GTFO. I'm sick of being nice to this worthless hunk of dog ****.

I think you're getting a little bit too worked up about this. Perhaps you should step away from the keyboard for a bit, because you sound a tiny bit agitated.
The QENs don't just serve a select few. They are free information for all, and anyone who read it can use it to his own benefit. There is no reason why you can't be the top dog in the EVE economy, and the QENs are certainly not going to keep you from it. It only needs some effort and a bit of luck.
As to the QENs being way overdue, I think that's not a good thing either. But the fact is that I don't know what EyjoG was hired to do at CCP, and I have no way of knowing what it is that he actually does all day. I just point out that he seems to be responsible for the CSM, now appears to be handling this exploit, in addition to his duties of writing the QEN.
That doesn't excuse the delays we've been seeing, but it does put things in perspective. And at this point I could understand it if the exploit resolution has a higher priority than writing the next QEN. It would be nice if we knew this to be the case, but there you have it.
As for what you think you're entitled to. Well I don't think your month contribution entitles you to dictate who does what at CCP. Nor to act like a spoiled brat for that matter. In fact, it merely entitles you to access to the game. And if that's not enough, if the service provided to you isn't worth the money, well, you can always take it somewhere else ... -- Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

From the dev blog page: Quote: Itęs evident from the graph that itęs far more expensive, in terms of variable costs, to make Orcas from purchased components rather than making them yourself. Of course, this stands to reason since sellers of capital ship components will want a markup on their production cost. Each Orca producer must then figure out if their expected volume of Orca production will warrant buying the component blueprints. Most likely, the main function on the capital component market is to fill in any gaps in the component production of newer capital ship producers.
Can someone explain to me the line "itęs far more expensive, ... to make Orcas from purchased components rather than making them yourself"
Isn't it true that no matter where the components come from they are marked to market as part of the cost, as if you don't use them yourself you sell them at market? So how is it cheaper if you "make them yourself" since the value is the same as market value?
Thank you.
