I don't think I know anyone who actually likes the current system of receiving an Eve-mail for every Starbase with less than 24 hours of fuel left in it, where the only way to find out exact levels is to go to each one, and look at it. God forbid you lose your tracking, or you'll lose your mind for all times.
To improve the situation, I'd like to see a new addition to the corporation tab; a Starbase Tracker. It's function is to provide a basic overview of each Starbase's remaining fuel levels, and their locations. In addition, the fuel alerts would be made a mailing list, to which individuals in a corporation could be given permission to subscribe to.
This should give some reprieve to those of us who don't keep excellent track of the starbases that crop up throughout the galaxy, and make the game a slightly better place.

OMG yes..... nuff said?
this would greatly improve the management of alliance and corp pos's galaxy wide no more warning emails about 24 hours of fuel left, cause you didnt wanna jc back to somewhere else to check it and if its full wait 24 hours to get back to where you were.
unless you use alts for pos monitoring then well good for you....lol

Edited by: Evelgrivion on 02/12/2008 11:34:26 Bit of a bump - I can't see any negative impacts in integrating these features, and they would certainly make logistics less miserable than they are now.
Oh and nice job fixing the forums (at least temporarily) CCP

Considering this is already built into the API I can't see any good reason why CCP shouldn't add a tab to the corp UI for this, could go under corp assets.
While they are at it they should also allow you to see whats in each hold on each array in each pos.
And should also allow you to rename all the arrays in your pos.

Well ccp could for example, have under assets -> in space, the POS modules grouped together by POS, like they do for offices and the different hangar divisions.
Unfortunately, I think this would require a re-write of how POS work from what I've been told.
_______ People like that don't have friends just temporary common interests.

(sarcasm following)
But, but - wouldn't that make Eve too easy? Everyone knows the only way a game is played hardcore is by doing mindless repetitive jobs! That's what separates the real players from the WoW-Crowd!11oneone

Yeah, would be nice. Don't hold your breath, though. Fortunately the API lists a lot of useful information. Not nearly enough, though... |

Computer games dont affect kids. I mean if Pacman affected us as kids, weĈd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music |

They could also (instead) have an eve-mail sent out to a mailing list once per day per POS listing each material, actual amount & approx. length of time that will last.

They should create a 'refuelling' ship. People would then be assigned to this task, job, and the refuelling requirements for each POS Starbase would be uploaded to a module installed on the ship...well the module could be installed on any ship, but you would get compression bonuses using the refuelling ship (meaning you would just get a lot more room to carry fuel).
This would really create another role for (well maybe not role, but a job) corps giving more people something to do. This idea/feature should be able to be turned off so that older methods of refuelling can be done. Some people may not take kindly to change or not have skilled pilots to fill the role. Below are some ideas on what I am talking about.
Fuel Monitoring Module (high slot)
Would flash when a user specified trigger would tell you fuel is getting low at POS's. You could then right click on it and view reports to find out what POS's need fuel, what systems, quantity, etc. This module could be fitted to any ship, but not without CPU drawbacks, much like Warfare Links.
Refuelling Ship
There seems to be a lot of industrial ships in the game and it would be nice to give another ship class (perhaps one with some speed) this role. It would be able to compress the fuel so it can carry more of it. It would have a Fuel Monitoring Module bonus of 99.25% CPU usage decrease. And would have a transfer range bonus of 10% per level of training (instead of the minimum transfer of 1500m). Much like a in flight plane refuelling has that hose the connects to the other plane....following me?
What do you think?
