It's properly boring to have wings of 2-3 guys just sit forever between nowhere and anywhere because they can't stand the heat.
It's pretty funny how the people who whine that EVE is too much consentual PvP already are usually the same people who feel safespots are a good idea so they can invade any area that has tenfold their power and then complain you're a coward because you go after them in numbers and won't leave them alone with your indies.
Talk about wolfpacks, guerilla is fine by me, but guerilla soldiers dont roll their gear up to the lawn of military HQ and tell jokes. Guerillas are HIT AND RUN, not HIT AND HAVE A BBQ in public! Could we please implement warfare and strike capability anytime soon? Not this silly "trick your weaker opponent into thinking he can win" bull...

Safespots aren't the problem. The problem is the lack of any means to effectively track them down within a week of dedicated searching. They need to fix those issues and provide a means for the spots to be located, not get rid of them entirely. If they get rid of safespots entirely they should also add a 'Carebear Cube' that can be fitted into a low slot. Once activated it forces offline all offensive devices within a 5 AU range.

It's funny how people say you can find a safe spot too, but they fail to mention you can only find the very poorly made ones after a very long time. Any half decent safe spot is all but unreachable, and if you're in command of a fleet that's hiding from a larger fleet you'll make damn sure your safe spot is a good one. Nevermind warping people to you after finding the safe spot, by the time your buddies arrive 90% of the people at the safe spot have warped out.

Well I vote no on the carebearcube, I like guns.
Well to implement tracking means safespots die. If you're trapped in a system, you should be trackable, period. Support war in eve, eat a pro-safepointer today!

SAFE SPOT HUGGING HAS TO GO!
There, I said it. It's far too easy to just sit for hours in a safespot talking ****e in this game.

Safe spots are needed.
If only to be able to take a f'ng break to have a cig or go the bathroom.
I hear alot of people moaning about people talking smack from safe spots. I think the problem for those that moan is to learn the term 'sticks and stones' and just tune them out. I've been playing since may of '03 and smack talk hasn't been a problem for me even once. Probably because it's generally a two-way street.
The current bookmarking system is fine the way it is.

All that empty space and you guys just want to remove it all.. That's sad..
Tracking should be implimented. But you should also be able to anchor turrets at your safespots to protect it, if the enemy finds your safespots..
Anyways.. You sit and whine about safespots. What is next? You want to completely remove the ability to exit the game as well?
Come on..

Edited by: Earthan on 12/07/2004 21:10:37 Definitely we need means to track safespots fast.
I hoped this new frigs will do it but it wasnt to happen:(
IT wont ruin safespots as you still can do things like warping between them, warping between moons.
It will just make impossible sitting. like iluu said BBQ-ing, and talking crap in local.
IT will make everything faster more enjojable.
Really i cant see aproblem here to introduce a mean to track safespots.
Stars, stars like dust, all around me.... |

Edited by: BobGhengisKhan on 12/07/2004 21:19:19 There is a way to find safespots. I only wish there was a way to know when people are at BBQs in their safe. Too many times they log off when we enter their grid

Safespots are part of the game, accept that. Safespots shouldn't go but people whining about safespots should.

I see no problems with hiding, anyone running away from anyone will do it. having a place to hide to is a good idea.
maybe there should be a transmission pinpoint scanner, so if you're a yappy idiot a trio of ships could triangulate your signal and find you. make local, corp and every channel other than gang traceable, so if you're forced to hide you have to shut up and hide...
there should also be an emissions pinpointer, based on the same idea, if a lot of people are flying into and out of a safespot it should light up like a star going nova on the emissions scanner.
but hey while we're dreaming, I want a pony with a cape!

uh.. logging out shouldn't have to be an option. Neither should fighting a losing battle. You guys have a problem with smack talk. Either keep your mouth shut or use the block feature. If you want something to blow up. Go find someone that isn't hiding or go blow up an NPC pirate or something.
And stop <cough> complaining.. You're giving me a headache.
