From EVE Survival:
"Warning
* Angel Cruise Missile Batteries spam Cataclysm Cruise Missile every 25 secs. Each missile deals 900 Thermal damage at 0% Therm resistance. * Tower Sentry Angel III fires every 2-3 secs. Each hit deals 80-250 Explosive damage at 0% Exp resistance."
That's pretty specific. How you fit hardeners depends on what ship you fly, your skills, your fittings, etc.
Here's some even more specific information on what to expect: EVE-info

Edited by: Kerfira on 30/11/2008 18:16:57 No matter what, this stage is difficult to tank unless you can kill off the NPC's reasonably fast. Thus, in effect, your 'gank' becomes a large part of your tank.
I always go for the Sentry III's first, then the BC's and the Sentry II's. After that, I go for the cruise batteries and battleships (except for the trigger). Once everything is agro, let your drones loose on one of the scramblers and set them aggressive and focus-fire.
There are quite a few scrambling frigates in this stage, which is what causes most of the difficulty. The main problem is that by the time you realise you can't tank it, you're scrambled...

Maybe it's just my luck, but I've never been warp scrambled in the AE bonus room.
Still, best to kill those buggers ASAP. |

I always kill off the cruise missile batteries first, after that the mission isn't too bad. It does require a fairly heavy tank, but nothing that a passive Drake/NH or Dominix cannot handle. I almost always bring in a second account for this mission as well, since more gank is the best form of tank you can get. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

The figures I use, which I seem to recall came from eve-info, and have always seemed to give me a fairly accurate basis for calculation, are:
EM 217 dps EXP 772 dps KIN 234 dps THERM 114 dps
Note the EM and THERM on top of the normal EXP and KIN you would expect from Angels. My 4 hardener Domi setup is EXP, EXP, KIN, THERM. Take out towers first - sentries are good for this.
I've never been scrambled in the bonus room, but am almost always webbed. This doesn't concern me as I start off with sentries, so am not planning to go anywhere ;-)

I did a damage calculation a while back using the rats present in the spawns according to eve survival, using damage info from el farto's database and eve info when el farto's had dps figures for npc missiles wrong. This is what I came up with, minus the seraphim-triggered respawn:
EM 210.38 EXP 811.91 KIN 230.22 THERM 106.86
TOTAL 1359.37
Looks like our figures are pretty close. The cruise batteries are almost all of the therm... take them out first and you can ignore therm in your tanking.

AB on and burn away, at an angle if you're a missile users, straight away from them if you're using turrets (for tracking reasons).
I've never found the damage to be too severe if you keep your distance. Sitting still and letting them get to optimal probably gets hairy fast. |

Yah, one to take seriously even in a Nighthawk.
I find it best to run away at first while taking out the HACs, cruisers and scramblers. The sentries and missile turrets don't seem to cause me much grief. Once the small fry is gone I turn around and plough back in. These days I could probably tank it all anyway but I don't believe in living dangerously -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

If you're running in a raven of some variety, try fitting 1 exp, 1 kin and 2 invuln fields. You barely lose anything to your exp/kin resists yet gain a nice chunk of EM and therm. I ran this setup for all angel missions as I'm pretty sure elite angel ships do a bit of either therm or EM damage too (not one to bother testing figures and things, just know I dont need to boost as much when running the above over 2 exp 2 kin). Better dead than smeg |

I'm not sure if this helps but my group is not skilled enough to run this mission solo at the moment. I am constantly playing with 3 real life buddies. The way we do this room is with one invul field passive tank drake which has 200 second recharge on sheild. While the other two of us have two large shield reppers. We PWN this pocket. Testing |

One of the problems in tanking the AE bonus room is that the initial battleship spawns can be either Malakim, which do heavy EM damage, or, IIRC, Warlords, which do standard exp/kin and no EM damage.

AE Bonus room with Golem : Fit to omnipermatank 1300dps. Sit around blowing stuff up at your leisure. Fix dinner. Finish blowing stuff up.
With any other ship: Omnitank 75%+ resists, kill cruise batteries, Sentry III's, the other Sentries and Batteries while flying away from the structures, letting drones kill the small stuff. Then kill everything but the Seraphim.
Then kill the Seraphim, and kill the triggered spawn. Loot and salvage or not according to preference.
