It's a long read, but interesting and the author has laced it with colorful language which makes it more entertaining.
However, I think the whole thing is phony, because he writes about creating fake handles and accounts on the EVE forums using hotmail accounts--I didn't think you could post on these forums unless you had an actual in-game account. If that is true, then the whole story seems like an elaborate hoax to me.

There quite a bit in that story that doesnt really make sense. Like the supposedly fight where he yell at his friend to fire the missiles. Last time I checked you couldnt have missile launchers on a maller!? So a bit hard to load missiles into launchers you cant fit on that particular ship

People actually use those?
Yeah... I don't buy this guy's little story. But it's a nice read none the less. Pretty amusing.

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

If Thoggins were an ant colony, I would kick him over, flood him, burn him, then crucify his eggs right after they hatched.

Quote: I stared at the balance long and hard. 480,000,000. I was lost in thought, imagining all the possibilities that half a billion credits would bring me. Images of splendor and prosperity flashed in my head, rapid fire. I would be the commander of a fleet of battleships, and a harem of beautiful women would fawn over me every second of the day. And even if I were to die, they would resort to having ******* sex with each other in front of my 40 foot shrine, forever worshipping my wealth in this life and beyond. The CEOs of the largest corporations and the GMs of the biggest servers would heel before my command, and I would have absolute dominion over every last atom in the universe.
lol, this guy is a blast. -

Edited by: Carmen Priano on 13/07/2004 03:23:42 It reads as if it were written by a friend of an EVE player; who heard about it all the while, maybe even did reading on the forum -- but hadn't played it himself. A lot of the wording doesn't connect with some really straight-forward, universally-known aspects of EVE -- ones that differ from other MMORPGs.
edit: that and the guy sounds like an utter *****.

"By this point, I had a pimped out indy with cargo expanders and several MWDs"
Okay, so fitting requirements for MWDs have changed a lot since then, but was this ever possible?

And due to that colourful language, I have to remove it.
It's a good read, but the content is slightly to unsuited for this forum.
Sorry.
