I logged on today to see my last post has been quite active. I took to the forums to vent on what I felt was extremely poor mission scaling. I still feel this way to a degree (about mission scaling) but I now realize I approached this game all wrong.
I have been stubborn and resistant to ask for help. I asked a few times in Rookie chat but got no helpful advice. To be fair though. I have used the Rookie channel often and found it helpful.
Thank you to those who offered ships or isk. I'm still to stubborn to accept your generous offers but I sincerely thank you. Thank you to all those who have made helpful posts. I have checked every link and am using them frequently. They are very helpful links.
Thank you Argaral, Ollienorth, Svodola, drdxie, drew, Turelus, dreadeye , Disco and any others who offered helpful advice. I have started fresh, with a new approach. Thank you for the advice. If I have any more questions I ll make sure to ask instead blowing another gasket, lol. |

Good to hear you've decided to give it another try.
I looked through your other post and yeah, there were some very good helpful replies as well as typical troll replies from unknown characters, probably alts that were created to pad the CSM vote.
Anyway, another good source of available info is the Evelopedia. Rookie chat, in my opinion, is more of a hassle than helpful. You'd probably be better off asking questions in your NPC Corporation chat channel. Also don't be in a rush to use higher level agents. You may have the standings for access but your skills, ship fit or tactics may be lacking. There's no shame in dropping back down in agent level for a while and do a bit more skill training.
Good luck to you.

Good to see youre giving it another go!
Stick with it is all I can say. Every MMO has its grind, and youd be hard pushed to find someone who really enjoys the struggles that you go through as a dirt poor noob in this game.
If you need help just keep asking until you get it is my only advice.

I put this in your first post.
Ever think that maybe we treat new players this way because it is much easier for them than it was for us?
Thay have continually made it more accessible for new players. - Elimination of learning skills (shaves a month off skill training) - Cerebral Implant (speeds up skill training) - More Skill Points at the start (i had less than 90k skill points when i started) - Stop being a pansy. |

Glad to hear you're staying with the game. If you ever have questions feel free to ask me in game if I'm online, as long as I am not in a PVP fleet I don't mind chatting. |

^^ This.
I want to highlight it because I see you're in Hedion U. My other character started there, too, and I learned a lot talking to a (mostly) retired pirate in Corp chat. He was friendly and helpful.
Good luck, and fly safe.

Sure, but it's becoming quite obvious CCP is willing to change the game they love to accommodate the newer folks. CAPS LOCK: CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. |

Which is not a bad thing.
There an extreme amount of complex things in Eve. Its bloody well overwhelming when you start. you get Paralysed by choice and also shackled by lack of skills.
I'm all for CCP working out how to train new pilots into understanding enough of the fundamentals so that they want to dig deeper and having the resources there to find the information they need to dig deeper.

Glad to hear that :)
Btw: better make mistakes at the start. At general you learn more from mistakes than from success. And for EVE: It is cheaper to learn from mistakes while you start, the longer you play, the higher the loss will be. And there will be losses because of mistakes.
When u need something, simply invite me to convo.
Have fun, clear skies and tons of ISK.

And what would you have? A stagnant player pool?
Making the initial phases of the game "easier" for new players is a great adaptation and direction for Eve. I welcome more players. |

I wouldn't have that. Though i would like the 900,000 skill points that i didn't get. That other players do get. And i would like the option of buying something like the cerebral accelerator.
But those things are for the new players....not the older players who have had credit card details in CCP's computer for several accounts for several years. |
