Edited by: Farakon on 04/12/2008 18:50:02 IÆve decided I want to get my Sisters of Eve standing up and notice that X-70MU has some of the better starting agents.
That is the complete opposite side of space from where I spend most of my time at present and is in 0.0 Pure Blind.
I donÆt mind losing a ship once in a while but I would like to avoid flying into constant ****.
Anyone know anything about the present state of affairs over there?

It was pretty ugly the last time I went there to check it out. My scouting alt got podded in a bubble. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

I went to Pure Blind last week to check it out for the same reasons. I saw a lot of aggression, had my ship destroyed twice. At one point I went to check the market to buy a shuttle and they were all priced in the millions. More expensive than any of the frigates.
As if someone thought that was funny.
It did not seem like a friendly place.

There is a major dispute going on in Pure Blind and would seriously suggest you go mission elsewhere.

Pure Blind and Fade (next door region) are largely 0.0 regions which players control. These two in particular have been through a lot of hands lately so they're in a pretty constant state of chaos. For people not in one of the currently active alliances in the area, it's not going to be easy or fun to do missions there.

I was living in Pure a month ago. I ran some level 1 SOE missions.
I advise but I dont suggest doiong it to be honest. 1/3 to 1/2 the time you leave the stations a player pirate will try to gank you.
Even if you can afford the ship and possibly clone loses its stupid to run missions in Pure because youll get standing losses with SOE when you lose mission itms and fail to complete.
If you think corp is different than a guild or clan you have some insecurity issues.

Thanks for all the good advice all.
I did roll an alt closer to the system and, sure enough, encountered gate camp after gate camp on the way in. (EC-P8R was camped all to hell)
Survival there would not be easy.

EC- is camped 95% of time. And ROIR (couple of jumps from X-70) has lately been a major hotspot in the conflict between GODS/TRI/Atlas and Northern Coalition.

Not exactly a quiet system though piracy wise, but still - it's an option.
edit: Just realised you said "starting agents"

Pure Blind was allways very anarchic and had shifty politics. You simply CANT be safe there, no matter to whom you are blue or red. Carebearing there is most nasty then anythere else, including no less anarchic Syndicate.
Shame though, hard to get Legion jammer nowdays.
if you about Sisters. You better check thier hub in lowsec. It nasty as well, but at least its a lowsec.

You might be able to get in, if you fly into 0.0 from a further away entry point. I did some missioning when it was quieter, maybe a year ago. I flew into a Triumvirate nano camp the first time and then took the other way in. I think I was getting podded maybe 1/4 of the time I came in that way. That was when it was quiet. A smarter person probably could cut that down a bit, but it's dangerous territory even when things are fairly calm.

The problem is... If you smart, you can hide, you can scout every you step, you can make PvPer realy hate you because of ability to slip out of thier grasp every time. But then, your progress will be so much creepy, that ISK/time rate will be lower then even crapy motsu income. So it worthless... Untill one alliance will be able to claim EVERY system arount mission hubs there, and will be able to hold strong presence IN mission hubs, Pure Blind will stay a dead zone for mission running.
You an try of course to set high prices for Legion jammers and Centurion set, but then you'll find that no one will buy it from you.

If you want hit up L2s, there are 3 high quality agents around Vattoulen and almost 100% of my missions there were in hi sec (I got one courier to losec). They were Public Relations and Personnel agents, and by and large handed out kill missions.
As well, Erindur has L3 and L4 SoE agents, its hi sec, but... you have to go thru losec to get there. ---
The stage is set Someone's going to do something someone else will regret... The fuse will have to run out sometime Something here will eventually have to explode

pure blind changes with the weather.
at the moment its very hostile and i doubt youd even make it there to do the missions.
you can however do missions for sisters of eve elsewhere, i would recommend you check what systems they have stations in to see if theres a friendlier one

Edited by: Jonathan Mcarthur on 07/12/2008 19:40:44 Atm, I find mission running in Pureblind pretty easy, compared to Low sec. Being low sec it's even more uncertainity plus a lot more traffic. Now to survive in 0.0 Mission you sort have to know what you are doing, know the area, have cloak, have an agile ship i.e. (HACs, Recons, AFs) and be aligned out at all times missioning is a breeze of fresh air. Lately, I mean about the last week I been running missions in Mordu's Legion Command constellation, it's highly profitable, 100% of the missions are kill missions, high LP and if you are smart you can avoid getting popped.
Getting here you, you have 3 Ways. 1). Go the long ways, look for the less camped 0.0 entrances, then take the long way of getting there, avoid major choke system, populated system, and system with alot of recently and 24 hours kills.
2). Fast ships, with cloaks and patience is the way to go..
3). Carrier Jumping is an option, it's good bringing things up and bringing faction stuff to empire.
Current Political Affair -It's Hostile for one, highly everywhere you look people will and they will try to kill you -Every Major alliance in the area uses Mordu's Legion Command Space station system as a cyno point in one way or another, so expect to see alot of cynos -EC (Elitist Cowards) have recently arrived in the area, and have setup shop for what I can forsee for abit, I bet to mostly to restructure and rebuild, it's mostly in US TZ/Aussie TZ there active... -Tri, Atlas, Iron, Rzr, MM, and several other factions roam around the the area. -Power of 3 Used to mission alot around here, but have gone away since the war in the north.
Overall, I like it here, there some action for PvP and good purse strings for PvE. Though for you, I'm not sure your experience or anything like that, but if you feel ready and you know your stuff you can thrive out here.
Ps. Don't do LvL 4s, for worth at this time.

Check your map, if the system you want has more then 300 pilots in space your going to have trouble getting in
Seriously, check out low sec systems to mission run in for a while. At least until we get done, and things settle down a bit |

Thats mean you'll be slow also. HACs have low DPS compare to even T1 BSs, low optimal range (since they use md guns), and low cargohold (which make harder to tank wit help of cap booster). Aligning very helpful on hunting, but on missions thats arnt a panacea. After killing all NPCs in one pocket, you'll need to get back to acceleration gate for jumping to next pocket. Even if you'll try to fly not directly to gate, but to ceelstial body at almost same vector (which some times simly not avaible), you'll have to turn around. And then, surprise, arazu uncloaked, locked you, damped you, scramble you (my favorite tacktic actualy). No way you can save your ass after that.
