Hey dudes.
So the other day I was thinking about a couple of the little details that occasionally bug the crap out of me in Eve, and I thought maybe it'd be fun and not at all a complete disaster to start a thread for only the smallest, most inconsequential nitpicks. Post here if you got 'em.
Keep in mind, I'm talking about little compulsive things here, not actual game changes. No nerf/boost nonsense, no changing ship attributes or fittings or CPU/grid or anything that requires balancing.
Basically, I'm talking about things that one guy in Reykjavik could fix on his lunch break, without having to balance it or double-check it or confirm it with anyone, no forum butthurt, just bang it out with one hand while chugging Brennivin with the other and get back to Ambulation or that new FPS or whatever else is cooking behind the scenes that I won't know about until CCP inevitably hires me due to the sheer unadulterated genius of this thread.
Right...?
Anyway, I'll kick this off by saying it'd be totally sweet if someone could tame those rogue polygons in the glass panel at the front of the Curse. That little reflection bug is provoking my compulsive nature and I figure it's only a matter of time before I snap and go on an OCD rampage through New Eden, following every Curse I see and hurling waves of armor rep drones at it while shouting "LET ME WASH YOUR F**KING WINDOWS" in local.

Trying to dock with the station only works 70% of the time. The other 30% of times the game just ignores the request and nothing happens. -

I imagine that would be a pretty serious bug if they still haven't fixed it.
Or, to be a complete tool about it: TOO IMPORTANT, UR DOIN IT WRONG.
But yeah, what is the deal with that anyway? Come to think of it, maybe it's just lag? ----- Anyone who makes a point of telling you they never beat around the bush is beating around the bush. |

Actually, it happen every so often, sometimes you need to press twice to dock.

Good call !
Dock command, ship warps, ship arrives at station, flip a coin, ship docks or approaches station ...
What about the display bug of depleted shields and cap at undock ? When they where before you docked but are in fact now recharged.

Yeah, I get that too. But I'd classify that as a core game bug. There's plenty of discussion about those in the Game Development forum.
I'm thinking more along the lines of "Dag-nabbit CCP, make the dang hardpoints on the Harbinger friggin' symmetrical, by gum!"
Also, the phrase "by gum" needs to be used more often purely for its hokey appeal. ----- Anyone who makes a point of telling you they never beat around the bush is beating around the bush. |

What really bugs me is that small turrets on frigs dont sit properly on the hull, their all sunken in, no stick (like when their shooting).

Hey Reg!
Yeah I noticed that weird effect on the Curse as well.
Nitpicks? Hmmmm...
Well, I would really like the option to fit like 4 turrets at once, like click a stack of weapons and fit it, shouldnt be that hard to do. :S Less time fitting, more time pew pew-ing.
Also, it would be REALLY good for example when you are repackaging stuff, and there is something damaged... It should ASK you if you want to repair it, and clicking "YES" would result in the items being repaired and then stacked. Because in 90% you do just that yourself.
Also something like afk notices... You type /afk and you could maybe add some simple parameters, and when some one addresses you in corp/alliance (your channel of choice really) its an automated message that maybe says. "Auto Message: I'm away, returing in 45m 23s." This would be done like "/afk 50m."
Highlight the skillgroup-bar that has a skill training in your charsheet, just to help you find it that little bit faster.
Make the guns on battleships proportionally bigger, at least artillery I can't make the turrets out from the rest of the scrapheap hull that are my minmatar BS's...
Those are a few...

The guy in the control center of the station forgot to turn on the tractor beam and pull you in... this is unrleated to ccp.

when searching through contracts, the lists should actually categorise properly. for example, if i wanted to search by price across entire regions. it would actually start with lowest price in all eve and go to highest price. INSTEAD of categorising by page...which makes it a right slog to go thru entire contract market sometimes. how hard is it to categorise this properly? come ON>>>

It's small turrets fit to anything. Like, if you put some T2 150mm rails on a Vexor for instance.

Another one is mods randomly going offline after its been carrier jumped up for you and contracted.
Even when you undock and online the mods, the bloody things just go offline again when u re-dock, swap to another ship and swap back to it.
Or is that just me? EVE history

Please retire Scottie, the station manager. A simple please wait 15 seconds or whatever will suffice. Or at least get a different sci fi character. Why not Jordi, Rodney, Bewchaca, etc etc.
Lord Regulus, I LOL'd at the whole wash your windows comment, so I Hope CCP doesn't fix it so I can see you doing that in local.

I hereby submit the terrible trend that caldari engineers exhibit: randomly attaching engines wherever it's convienent. I mean, at least on the Kestral they all point the same way but why the HELL am I routing engine power in opposite directions on a Griffen or Kitsune? I'll bet THAT'S why Caldari ships are natively slow - all that advanced technology is being installed by engineers who couldn't even get past the "build a lego spaceship by following the instructions found in the kit" course in . . . wherever Caldari engineers go to learn how to make things.

Why is it in Gallente Navy colours when it's a Duvolle Labs design? Afaik all the other gunboat HACs (Eagle/Zealot/Muninn) are in their proper colours.

When you DC on a gate and relog instantly, before the ship has warped off (weather you have done it intentionally or NOTTTT!) the ship will stay in place but you will NOT be able to jump out of harms way, tho you haven't jumped -> re approached you have to way sth like 30sec.
Has happened to me twice when multiple hostile ships entered through the gate I was on and the client crashed(thanx QR patch), and I've lost 2x ships waiting for the darn session to change (no-aggro, yet not jumping out and no "invulnerability")- no response to my petitions whatsoever. Probably just forgot to take down the scaffolding after building it. Humm, the ships is built of scaffolding...
POSs in general get me. They are full of little bugs like this that I'm sure are one semicolon away from working as they should.
