From what I understand from CCP and the SHC forums, the exploit basically meant one could receive any type of reacted moon material for free. Looking to make the most profit, the exploiters would have focused on making the most expensive per m3 of reacted material possible for the least amount of work per profit. This would narrow the affected materials down to fermionic condensates and ferrogel, with maybe a little bit of hypersynaptic fibres.
Logically the most exploited would be the F. condensates. Since nothing was required to produce the F. condensates, the increase in demand for all the reactants should be uniform. So why is it that the percent increase in price of these reactants have not been uniform? For example caesarium cadmide has more than doubled in price but fluxed condensates has barely changed in price.
Also, why would any of the more basic materials increase in price? Especially for materials like the carbides. Exploiters would not have bothered making much of that since there was little ISK to be made but lots of hauling to do. So it would have had a higher supply to keep up with all the high end materials which are appearing out of nowhere. This should cause it's price to decrease. Why do some people seem to think that these basic materials would increase in price?
Materials like ferrogel have doubled in price yet prices of ships such as jump freighters have not moved significantly. Yet cheaper T2 ships have gone up quite a bit, is this just market manipulation?

Edited by: Darin Raltin on 12/12/2008 05:14:19 Because most of the movement right now is market speculation - people making bets and trying to take profits.
It's a bubble, much like the housing bubble in the US that has led to the current downturn.
The actual finals price are anyone's guess.
Also think of how long it takes to build assault frigs vs. a jump freighter. This increase is NOT driven by producers, but people who are just buying and relisting.
