Make the marauders salvage and tractor comperable to the noctis.
for every level of marauders you have it increases the tractor range and salvager cycle time at the equivalent of a noctis.
This won't remove the noctis as the primary salvaging vessel, and most people don't fly a marauder anyway, so it really does nothing but make marauder life a small bit easier |

Noctis loots and Salvages, Marauder does looting and killing, thats it. Hell, the marauder is already worse off now that its massive cargo bay is useless because Scrap Metal, Y-38 MWD/AB, and ECCM mods drop like candy from a pinata (aka, less worthwile loot).
I would like to see another offensive bonus to the marader instead, my poor Vargur doesn't have a +damage bonus (double damage of 4 turret doesn't really count) but has a bonus to increased rate of fire on autocannons that already fire pretty fast but it lacks the fitting requirements to put artillery on it without some reactor controls in the lows. Equivilent of 10 800mm autocannons...yummy! |

with the noctis out, about, and available to everyone who has the easy-peasy skills to get one, it really makes the marauder's salvaging abilities seem... ...redundant.
I'd just make the marauder an even more powerful killing machine while providing a powergrid buff to both the Kronos and Vargur (gallente marauder pilots feel a similar pain, Aqriue), wilst removing the marauder's salvage bonuses. Maybe removing the extra high slots (save one for a max of 5) would also be in order with all of the above. |

How about: Improve sensor strength (to that of a t1 bs). Remove Tractor Beam bonus. Remove one high slot. Add one mid/low slot (mid slot for armor tankers, low for shield tankers).
Result: More (self) tanky, less deepsy / EHPy, BS worth the price that might actually be a solo-worthy boat (self rep bonuses make it a decent mission ship still).
Then: go back to station and grab a Noctis. |
