Edited by: Haratu on 17/07/2004 14:51:01 Edited by: Haratu on 17/07/2004 14:39:03 As a general rle of thumb... the lower the security the better the ore. This does not follow exactly in 0.0 space, but it is a good indicator in high sec space...
Generally (depends on region sometimes) Veldspar - everywhere Scordite - everywhere plagioclase - ? pyroxeres - 0.9 and below (fixed by dalman) omber - ? kernite - 0.6 and below jaspet - 0.4 and below Hedbergite - 0.3 and below? Hermorphite - 0.1 and below? All others - 0.0 and below?
This is only rough, question marks i am unsure of. please copy and correct as people learn things.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Pyro can be found in 0.9
There are different ores in different regions. Many regions doesn't have plagioclase at all. The 0.0 regions beyond Curse have very much arkonor but very little crokite. The 0.0 regions in the north in the other hand has very much crokite. Just some examples...

it is because there is stations there that theoretically the ore has all been mined throughout hisotry.

yes omber and plagioclaise are rare in amarr regions.

Yea. Considering the main systems has been heavily populated and mined throughout thousands of years, it would make perfect sense if the most rare and expensive ore was still to be found in those systems, instead of being depleted NOT.

My theory is that the ores are placed to entice pilots to other regions of space.
Why would anyone venture out to lower security space if all the ores could be found everywhere?

Omber and Plag is plenty in Minmatar-land (metropolis, heimatar..), in 0.7 possibly even higher.
I think region-distributed ore is only good, else there would be no trade-factor what so ever in minerals. Example in Minmatar-land you need to travel to 0.1-0.3 to get yourself some Noxcium (Hemorhpite/Hedbergite not sure which). While you can mine Pyrox in other regions and get Nocxium in 0.9, small amounts ofcourse, but it's there and valuable. ___________________________ Chicks dig Brutor's |

well, here's a secret... the systems actually have ratings that go from 1.0 all the way down to -1.0.. but anything less than 0.0 shows as 0.0 on the map. these negative "security" ratings are used to determine both ore spawn & NPC rat strengths.

Wow! That's big, I been playing for a year and you always are learning new stuff. Even within 0.0 space some systems have crap roids and crap spawns. The "terminal" ones (the ones with only 1 way in/out) tend to have the hardest spawns and also the best roids in general.
