First thing: On a laptop of that quality, redefine new games as "2007."
Secondly, Orange Box, COD4, Bioshock (very western-RPG).
I seriously doubt it could run "new" games with any reliability.

Okies.
Hitman Series: falls into the same category as console-Oblivion for me. Sure, glichy as all hell, but some of the funniest things you've EVER seen in a game. Makes playing them great.
Battlefield Series. Your preference, mine is 2142, simply because I like titan maps and gunships.
Mass Effect. (Don't know how well it'll run)
Will add more.

You can download GTA and GTA:2 from rockstar.com (Free)
I recommend Warlords Battlecry if you like a sort of RPG styled RTS. Besides, I'm never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down |

A new expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2 was released recently (I think!) and is only ú10 at play.com. There's also Oblivion + Shivering Isles (+Knights of the Nine) if you want some Elder Scrolls action. And if you haven't played it, The Witcher (recently re-released as "Enhanced") is very good too. Surprisingly good graphics for the slightly aged Aurora (NWN) engine, great storytelling, timing based combat and lots of skills and abilities to play with. I have a suspicion that last might chug a bit on your machine but it's definitely worth a look (make sure you play enhanced version).
I don't understand how a laptop could come with 4gigs of RAM and then have shared GFX -------------

download an NES/SNES/Sega Genesis emulator. All your non-MMO gaming needs are taken care of for the cost of a cheap PC gamepad.

I'm not sure about the hardware reqs, but check out Vampyre story, if you like old-school adventure games. It has a lot in common with the old monkey island games, Love it!

Edited by: MotherMoon on 20/12/2008 06:42:57 universe at war. 30$ at store, but it, it miht be one of the best rts I've ever played.
oh and it's butch to patch because windows live >.< but find the 3 patches before you play so you have dual CPU support. This makes the run a lot better.
also you can run down the settings quite a bit.
