For the past semester (and soon to be next semester) I have been taking figure drawing classes and am contimplating getting software such as Manga Studio as my skills improve to eventually create a comic book of sorts to add to my portfilio.
I have seen Manga Studio both on the web and at my local art supply stores however I have also been told its much like photoshop (something I already have). Unfortunitely (though not surprisng) I could not find a demo of the program to test it out and see if it has things that photoshop does not so I am wondering if anyone here is familiar with this program or others like it.
If so can you tell me if it is indeed worth it (ie. does it have tools that photoshop does not or can not easily replicate) or should I just stick to photoshop? -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Never heard of the latter till your post, but a quick look at the developers site, it does sound a little different from what I do know of photoshop, and certainly seems more geared at drawing, inking and shading. It's probably more comparable with Adobe Illustrator than Photoshop (it doesn't say but it looks like it's vector based).
At the end of the day however, only you can decide which will help you get more out of your artwork. Google turned up a free demo you can try although at $49.99 the full version doesn't seem particularly expensive. There's technically no reason you cannot have both if you find the two useful. Why not try the evaluation version? -------------

I hope that was a joke. Downloading is transparent, for the most part, I don't see how anyone would be able to tell if the software he was using was pirated. I was just suggesting an alternative. Maybe he wants to try the full version before spending 50$? ________________________________
