Over the past few days my 3 accounts have been jump cloning alot to and from 0.0. It has become aparent jump cloning causes problems with the game thats not to say every time but now and then your char will get as the dev put it STUCK and will need to be logged off the server and back on again (Only devs can do this) I use the stuck petiton to achive this as its alot faster. No amount of clean reinstalls or logging on and off will fix this I have even tried loging the char on with a different computer and the problems still persist, its got to be a reboot of the char by a dev on the server end its aparently the only thing that will fix this situation.
Typical game problems seen after a bad jump clone.
Mods of line and unable to bring on line. Unable to activate mods when in space. Skill training fails to start (its looks as if its started but its not flashing.) result lost skill time. Possible in game grafix problems. Unexplained Lag Unable to target lock any thing in space.
I am not flaming the game just giving you a way around sorting this problem out. Most common effect seen after a JC is the ship you activate has off line mods in the fitting screen if you see this its a good bet you have the jump clone bug. Petition the STUCK devs tell the dev you have just JC and now have off line mods on your ship and ask for that char to be relogged on the server they should do it quickly and with out question because they are aware of this problem but just have not made any anouncements about it yet.
Merry Christmas God Bless Tiny Tim

2 buddies of mine had issues likes you mention after a clone jump, mainly there ships modules went offline, and could not be put online, they unfit the ship, re packaged the ship, still the same however it seems to was just a graphical bug as the mods still worked when u tried to use them even though they were greyed out

Its a bug CCP are fully aware of but for some reason havent made any anouncments about, it was the dev who informed me about it and not some thing I discoverd and thought needed to be reported just trying to be informative is all to help others who may come across the same situation.
I lost a Crow because I had a mild form of the JC bug the mwd did not activate when clicked it wasant untill the problem became so servere I could no longer play the game did a dev finaly pay any proper attention to my glitch petitions. The JC bug lets call it can be some thing small or some thing huge I am sure its not the same for every one. But its to late after your much prized ship goes POOF because a mode refused to activate due to a mild form of the JC bug. You may not know you have it untill its to late.

I'm sure they know, it's been talked about in the issues forums for the past few days.
A work around I found is to jump from a pod instead of a ship, seems to alleviate the issue. Also, if you leave the ship and make it active again you should be able to online the modules.
But yeah, almost lost a couple of ships because of this, thought I was going to have to rage quit.

Happened to me last night. Jumping into another system fixed the stuck modules etc., however, coming back to the system that I have jumped-cloned into brought back all the problems.
So is this something I have to petition to fix completely? ...

Just petiton the stuck devs and ask to be relogged onto the server explain you have offlined moduals on your ship after a Jump Cloneing. That fixes the problem for me.

If you are having problems clone jumping please try to 'leave ship' before jumping and then clone jump while in your pod. That is one possible workaround at least.

I had exactly this, and when I entered the help channel to ask for advice, I got a lot of small minded abuse.
I was told I had clearly purchased my account on ebay because I was nothing short of an idiot, and how can anyone with a marauder not know how to fit their ship etc. In short they simply WOULD NOT believe that I was describing a genuine fault, and went on to accuse me of making the fault up just to try and make them wrong.
I am glad other people have experienced the same issue that I did and hopefully in the future people in the help channel may actually try and be helpful instead of insulting.
I'm sorry you experienced the same fault I did, and I am not glad at your misfortune, but it is one in the eye for the arrogant know-all "helpers".

I had a different issue with Jump Clones the other week.
I jumped from a ship and when I arrived at the destination station, I was surprised to find that I'd just lost around 32 million Skill Points.
Thankfully, on this occasion, a simple relog fixed the problem.

Confirming that the abuse in #help was hillarious.

that is a matter of perspective, tbfh I don't see the point in going to help anymore, if the people in there are actually just arrogant tossers who don't want to help.

has anyone got a work around for this yet
FGS I just get to where I want to be and I'm no use to my fleet at all... because of some stupid bug.
This is really REALLY frustrating.

If you're having problems with your Q&A after introducing changes to game-mechanisms such as clone-jumping, in that they don't catch issues like this one. Perhaps you can eject them through the window and hire new ones. This is one possible workaround at least.

This is pretty much as I have always done it... In fear of losing ships/getting into troublesome bugs... And here we go, seems I have developed a good habit for once. It's about time I put something sensible in here, but I couldn't really come up with something so you'l have to do with this. Are you like really bored, or did you not notice this is my sig? |
