Hi, I have one question: why tritanium price goes so high?
-I know there is inflation -I know there will be drone region nerf but that will impact high end mostly -I know it's the more difficult mineral to move due to the great volume -i know for the T0 loot nerf
but it's the most present in the universe...
Someone can explain me why he's so high and is always on a climbing trend?
thx |

It doesn't matter if its the most "present" in the universe.
There will be less trit on the market due to loot nerf. There will be less trit on the market due to drone nerf. There will be less trit on the market due to bot bans. There will be less trit on the market due to miners moving to higher-end ore to get higher-end mineral since their isk/mp3 is higher.
If other minerals rise up in value, trit will also rise up as it is the nature of it. also trit is the most used mineral. |

The desire to use trit for production of various ship and modules is not going down due to any change in this patch, however the supply is expected to contract significantly. As such not everyone who uses trit today will be able to use it in a month.
An increase in price will correct this by creating a greater incentive for people to mine, and by driving those for whom it is now too expensive to stop using it. |

Mineral prices are going up because the game has fewer miners in it everyday.
This is because of 2 things.
1. Incursions 2. Non-stop Hulk Ganking by suicide gankers.
And Pyroxeres are mostly tritanium and nobdy that knows what they are doing mines pyro. |

They are right, it's about the price people are willing to pay for it--it's the ultimate factor. But, you're wrong to assume trit is ALWAYS on the upswing. This current swing is absolutely Incredible, but it is a bubble based on 1) extreme numbers of speculators buying and holding materials in anticipation of the drone-nerf. 2) the daily elimination of automated players (bots) that worked 24/7 to reduce mineral prices by perpetually afk mining. 3) the current attitude towards isk as being cheap and easy to come by due to incursions and other plexes pouring it out in extreme perportion to other professions. (which is soon to be balanced.) 4) the slow pace at which industrial type players are going to feel the demand left by the bots in order to reduce the price due to the absolute bordom of mining combined with the highrisk of being suicide ganked randomly in hisec not just for the lols but for profit as well, and not just during a hulkageddon event.
I am sad that I cashed out so early! Never thinking I'd see trit hit 7 and 8 isk per unit.
ALL of this factors taking place at the same time had lead to a fever of irrational exuberance as the economy is adaptive and will begin to take advantage of the mindset of traders riding the wave all the way to the crest. If mining ships are too defenseless to do what they need to for the price you have to pay for them, people will begin mining in mass in modified and rigged battlecruisers just as they did in the old days. And somone eventually will have paid 10isk per trit and only be able to get 6isk for it because recessions do happen in eve with generally predictable timing. Personally, I'm looking for the market to crash before x-mas. |

It is a market dynamic, just like waves are a water dynamic. You push a lot of water around and you create a wave. It is because of the inertia water has. The markets are the same. People are inert to adjust their demand for tritanium and because of the lower supply does it increase the price. The price will however not come down again on its own. People will have to mine more and do less PvP for this to happen. This is going to take a long time for people to accept and some will only run more missions, do more complexes to get the ISKs needed for PvP and the higher prices and just live with it. |

Tell me about it. About a year ago when the security team announced the war on bots, i bought 10b+ of trit (and some Pye) at around 3.3 average. Quit EVE for 6 months and when returning saw that prices only had risen for a bit so liquidated 70% or so.
One thing i'm very negative about currently is that (as i had anticipated a year ago) the whole bot thing is way larger than perceived. In fact, we still don't know exactly but obviously supply is down so unless intentionially the other 'nerfs' are very unfortunate timing on CCP's end.
Now, after the dust has settled we'll see how much the markets were inflated by speculation but even then it's a long road to recovery. This hugely inflated situation is not good for anyone from Mission runners to Pvpers.

August/September is more likely based on historical patterns. Maybe as late as October. I think we'll be over the hump by July 1st and headed down, unless HAG5 / BurnJita run for more then 3-4 weeks. Or if null-sec wars run hot and heavy for more then a month.
But starting in October, CCP will be starting to tantalize us with what is going to change in the Dec 2012 expansion, so speculation will ramp up again.

A) there is a huge amount of ISK being pumped into the game every month (see Dr. Eyjo's FANFEST seminar) B) people are lazy... they are willing to pay high prices rather than mine, which is understandable since there are many ways to make ISK faster than mining, and, C) mining is boring... and who wants to be bored in a game ?
There may well be some shortages soon... wars in Null Sec, Hulkageddon, etc. etc.
But we'll always have Jita... and it's high prices... well, we'll have it back when the Goons are done with it.
