Ok Evemissions Database is finally off the ground and ready for populating.
It has been an emotional rollercoaster doing this but its up and running so updates coming thick and fast now.
However here is the sneak peak and the tables are in the wrong order.
Link to the Database
If you think we need to add more fields of usefull info then please post a message below.
but overall its the start of great things to come!!!
I hope

There is lot to do before this stops me using eve-survival.org in IGB...
Will there be there anything different than just mission info? Vids? Screens?

Not to naysay... but I have to wonder why people who want to do missions pages dont just contact Chepe Nolon. He runs eve-survival.org.... He's usually pretty open to suggestions, and plenty of people contribute to keep the mission wiki up to date. - I wish I had something witty to put in a signature. - |

We will have a Level 5 Database and also a agent locator with walkthrough video Guides. We started out doing the level 5's from when they were first launched and we will be doing them as a priority.
Why dont we just contribute to Evewiki survival?? Well we just want to be diffrent and keep to the same style as Eveinfo as way back it was what i was used to and it seems that eveinfo has been left to dead. I know that BarmaLINI pops his head onto there from time to time but it really lacks updates.
What we want to do is basically in a nut shell is dupe eveinfo WITHOUT stealing content but add more and more content with more guides etc. There is room in the eve market for new ideas. **********

There's nothing wrong with being different IF being different actually serves an unmet need. The main advantage of eve-survival is that it's available in-game, whereas other, more heavily scripted, sites (like yours) are only practical out-of-game. That greatly limits the usefulness of those other sites since most people don't want to swap windows all the time to access mission information.
Having said that, I DO think there is room to have an out-of-game mission guide website that goes into a lot more detail than the in-game site can ever provide (hi-q screenshots and videos, interactive social content, etc.), and that would serve an unmet need (I use eve-info, but like you pointed out it's dead and only has limited usefulness).
There are currently at least two other people (Aerics and Abyss Wyrm) working on new mission guide websites, so you have competition there in any event. Here are some suggestions:
1. Work together with eve-survival to see if you can become an out-of-game partner site. That would allow you to share their content (which is your major hurdle), and as long as you enhance their content with additional information they're not providing (for example links to NPC ship info), then the two sites should work together well.
2. Make arrangements with people in-game to purchase mission information. If you want to become a competitor to eve-survival, you'll have to find a way to generate content fast, and the only way you can do that is by paying people (in-game ISK or otherwise) to supply you with the mission info you want. Either that or ask your corpmates to contribute mission content.
3. Partner up with the others who are working on a new mission guide website to see if you can do something between the three of you that would help everyone.
IMO if you want to be successful, you need to start thinking about this as a business venture, otherwise you're wasting your time trying to do something only you will find useful.

I agree with all that you have said and will take some or all to the table with the guys im working with.we have around a $4K budget which we already put 200 of that to use with having the tables made. We have around 1500 being spent at present on a larger database. We will be offering RL money for those who will make videos also and join the venture with us.
We have taken this very seriously and the RL money was donated and put together from other ventures. We will not be asking for anything in return as were just here to provide support. We will also have 23/7 support via a helpdesk gui on the site where people who are stuck or require help can contact us refrence accounts for customers who want to submit info. Im not sure if hiring or advertising on here is against EVE's terms & conditions...
We are also looking at around 10+ diffrent bespoke databases and tools. ie level 5 agent locator, Market grabs which will tell you where the cheapest items or mins etc are being sold and tools such as mineral calculators etc. Most of these are out there but were going to try and take all the ideas and put them under one roof.
I will be starting a Corp which will only have the guys on the team which want to take part in its production. it will be non profitable and all advertising from the site (Google ads) will go to paying for info submitted by users or to a charity and they will be announced so there is no confusion.
I am looking at definately contacting eve-survival about aranging a possible deal of being there first choice of contact for all OOG content.
Regards
Dwayne

I have spoken with EVE-Survival.org or Chepe Nolan and he is happy that we can migrate the data on there and make a nice graphic version the same as Eve-Info.
So the work now begins :) |

I see you have started to add all the Level 5's across. Its really cool how Chepe has given you the rights to take all the info from his site and create the database on yours. I hope it will be as good as Eveinfo as that site was really informative.
PM me when you update.
