Quick question, will the general atmosphere be effected by the type of area your in?
Or will we have spotless clean stations teeming with life and family friendly activities in the seediest most dangerous parts of the galaxy.?
Rationally a station in 0.1 would probably be a lot less pleasant of a place to be hanging out in then one in 1.0.

I agree, it would be better if they kept the security status and also the type of station in mind when designing the interiors. |

Ambulation is a lie to continue to draw in subs. It's not actually going to be implemented.

And here is the *wink* backstage interview proof from FanFest that Abduul forgot to post.
But if it WERE coming, then yes this would make sense - but if you're in null-sec then it would've made sense for corps who have sovereignty to put in as nice stations as they like
And yes, for the eager people who clicked on the above link before reading this....=P

But remember that matar stations should looke like crap even in high sec :) in 0.1 they would be rather hazardous to walk in. I do agree that the stations should looke like crap in lowe sec status, but also wealth of the corp/alliance should be a element in it.
Just to avoid misunderstanding, I didn't mean matars suck, i mean that the whole idea of them being ductape etc. should also show in the interiors. Stop whining. |

For the first release there wonŠt be any difference in stations in low or high sec because it would mean Art has to spend a lot of time on an item that wouldnŠt be used as much while we there tons of other things that would be used everywhere.
Maybe later there will be noticeable differences if people reaaaaaaaaaaaally want it.

Just because you think something is awesome on paper, you might find you like other parts of WiS a lot more. You just donŠt know it yet. maybe youŠll want CCP to release tons of clothes instead of new station interiors.
Maybe you like project runway better than top designer, you donŠt know until you try it and then you can try and order the sequel.

Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 13/01/2009 10:10:28 Ooh i know, you wouldn't want to see my "hot list" for ambulation ideas
I take nothing at fac value and i try not to get exited/angry at things before trying, wouldn't be much of a designer if i did
But still, when comparing: "different scenarios" or "same scenario", ofcourse, if time and resources was no problem, "different scenarios" would go on the "wish list".

I just want ambulation to happen already. The idea of these stations being sockets that players craft to their needs excite me. With the proper user tools we could see player missions and questlines that rival the real ones.
What I would like to see personally are bars and shops with Player created NPCs that interact and have stories which change. That way whenever you came back to the station, there will always be at least one thing new. Please Vote DjLowballer as your delegate to the CSM! |

Will every station in the game walkable? I mean, thats at least a few thousand stations..
And will Player stations be walkable? What happens if the station you are in is destroyed and you have no clones elsewhere?
Just a bit curious on the mechanics :) |

shes a haxor! she is named CCP Eris Discordia while we would have to stick with CCP Eris or something! /me grabs tinfoil hat

but for me ambulation wouldnt really add dimension into the game, I'd rather have something like planetary flight/interaction, more space ro carebear around in and stuff |

Great thing about WiS, you don't have to give two, or even one doodie about it. Just, keep on flying and dying as always, and let those who DO enjoy such a thing, do so.
People should stop forcing others to their way of life in a sandbox'y game

There won't be a sequel, CCP will do whats its done consistantly for the last 6 years. It will develop it, release it half done, someone else will get a "cooler" idea and then development will be abandoned for the newest "shiney". Later someone in CCP will cite new content/fixes/boosts for that perticular aspect of the game but it will never materialise.
This has happened consistantly on the last 23 developments.
I dunno why I said 23, its just a cool number, 23 23 23.

Surely the eve sandbox philosophy revolves more around "where shall I go?" and "what shall I do?" than "what will I wear?" and "does my bum look big in this?".

Umm...sandbox means "do what you want", that includes waving your nakid bodyparts infront of old ladies until CONCORD locks you up for "indecent proposal"

I approve of the lack of clothes, it's the addition of extra ones I'm nervous about!
