It's no secret that EVE isn't exactly the easiest game to learn at first. Heck, even experienced players tend to forget what a Villard Wheel is once they re-roll a new capsuleer. That's where STAR comes in, our premiere team of volunteer support gurus who make life in New Eden bearable for all.
If you want to learn more about STAR, or are curious to join, pay a visit to our newest dev blog about the team. You can find it here.

Might even think of applying..oh well.
Say, does Star have an irc channel too?

Not the blog you have been looking for? I beg to differ...
Hello, I am Libertina, Vice Admiral of STAR.
Just as any good leader would do, I stepped up, thought about it some time and then had one of my minions write the blog for me. To answer the initial question (once you have been caught by the STAR virus to answer each and everything, you can't be stopped anymore. May the Fedo protect you all from us.) We do not have a public IRC channel, but being online in the Help channels on TQ, this is where you can direct questions to us, or simply state them here in this thread and I will try to answer them all.

Mh, one question:
As a german player, i've been roaming the german help channel a fair bit to cover some of the more specific questions i have knowledge about. Now, my english isn't that bad, but are you looking for people who cover exactly those channels too? ----------------------------------------------

Just a suggestion: Fix the coding on the page so that if you forget to enter information for all fields (ie leave fluent language 3 blank), and after applying you are prompted to go back, you do not lose all the information you previously entered.

\o/ seen many a teal guy helping out in the help channels when I'm in there, even tried to catch a few with pokeballs but to no avail. Most of this is stuff I already knew so I was wondering if I could ask a few questions, or at least give you idea's on what to talk about.
1. wiki-eve-pedia or whatever it's called; One thing I'll often see in the help channel is people disagree on how something is calculated or some other point like that. Most of the time if someone who's name is a different colour says anything then it's pretty much taken as law, any plans for star guys to use eve-pedia to help answer questions?
2. isk spammers, they have gone down a lot from what they used to be (a hell of a lot and good work on that) but when I created a couple of new alts a few weeks ago I noticed the rookie help channel and corp channel crawling with them.

I'd have to say it's the players response that seems to be lacking these days. 2 days ago, I reported about 8 isksellers in a period of less than 3 hours, all of which got handled perfectly. However, after seeing the isksellers message pop up in local, it was the players throwing insults at it and generally making the localchat unuseable. Replies in the sence of "DIE DIE DIE!!!111oneone1eleven!" or the well known shift+enter to render a large whitespace. While they were spamming local, my petition got through, and was nearly instantly handled, thus shutting the iskseller up. Ofc, the sad thing is, for every iskseller that is muted, 2 new ones arise. |

Villard Wheel.
Btw. who came up with the idea of removing the possibility to invite people into the national language channels? Or was/is the option to do it/the option not to do it a bug? ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute

I suspect that the application process is intentionally difficult, as in lacking in specific instructions. It resulted in my first experience with IRC -looking for a group that was apparently hidden or invisible. Somehow I found it and stumbled through a seemingly automated interview -forgetting to post my system specs as instructed per email -doing so instead in the wrong IRC window. Oh well. It was kind of fun. Please don't fault me, CCP, for being an IRC noob. |

ISD does indeed use IRC as their main communication tool, but each team while using the same CCP application process then ventures into different means of interviewing their potential candidates. What you explained here does not sound much like a STAR interview at all

For about a year now we are replying to all applications as soon as we get to them, either positive resulting in an invitation for an interview or negative. Before then, we have only been replying to those whose applications resulted in an interview invite. We did not apply this procedure backwards but dealt with it on a case by case basis whenever an application has been updated by their owner and therefore has been reinjected into our queue.
