To fix Caldari IMO
Shift the balance of the jamming mechanics so no ship can be jammed solid forever more. Maybe more effective but a lengthy cooldown so people arent useless for as long as a battle lasts, jamming counters everything without sensor fortification mods, even a lot with. It counter scramblers, it counters nos, etc... etc...
Change Shield Power Relay modules to no longer stack without penalty, the only directly specialised tank affecting module allowed to do this, would make them fall in line with everything else. They are the reason we have the phenoma of ridiculous passive tanks on certain ships.
Concerning the Raven and Rokh battleships (Maybe Minmatar ships too)
= Stupid slot layout in my opinion.
- A lot of options to fill 5 low slots, but they are still pretty pointless or little value, my setups wouldnt suffer much if I only had 2 low slots even, at the same time how are we supposed to adapt to the missile changes with 6 mid slots when to tank near as good as some of the other pvp ships, must drop the sensor booster?
- Its actually not a terrible idea to armor buffer tank a raven with the options it would give you in mid, it would be a pretty stupid and useless to do the same to most ships designed for armor.
How about drop a low slot from Rokh/Raven and add a mid slot?
We may be seeing a massive influx of people to the Amarr race over the future :
1. Balance wise, Amarr are considered in the lead in current Eve form.
2. Caldari is the most populated race easily, and who better to cross train for after their constant nerf after nerf then to what is effectively their sister race in the game, Amarr.
3. All the glorification of the Amarr race in so many recent Eve stories and Eve trailers, making them look a lot more cool and appealable to certain people.

Bleh adapt or die.
Amarr where missing thier quirk of what made them great and they got it. Slow and hard'n far hitting/tanking.
The fact you complain bout thier only strength and what makes us great in pvp is bad bad bad if you want to boost the race, because they are more likely to nerf thier only sought pvp characteristic and give no solid boost at all.
Slotting is fine with Caldari, they need to find a way to make shield tanking favorable. The bottom row can support some of the best engineering modules available that a pvper tanker may want if hes going to go plowing.
and why even suggest them armor tanking? we dont need two matar races. |

*thinks*
...the thing is, i'm an amarr pilot and lately started using caldari ships, with amarr skills, which don't include this whole shield hapooie, and i still manage to use them effectively.
So...if the caldari works with lasers and armor tanking...well...i don't see a problem
Yes, i actually have a blackbird fitted with beams and armor tank
And furthermore! Why is an amarr pilot complaining about caldari ships? Back to your golden phallic symbols you! |

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 14/01/2009 07:38:26 Caldari missile boats still require the least amount of skill for PvE (by a yawning chasm of a margin, describable in terms only Lovecraft could wield), and apparently Achura have good starting stats, so I doubt we'll see a decrease of either Caldari players or Caldari ship pilots in the future. Most of the people in Eve aren't PvPers, after all.
Since each race shouldn't be exactly balanced with each other in every way, it is my position that Caldari do not require any PvP buffs at this time. Missiles are a separate issue, and if you want to discuss missile changes don't even bring Caldari into it, except when pointing out the well-known fact that Caldari have more dedicated missile ships than anyone else. But don't just conflate missile problems with Caldari problems, because missiles get used by everyone. |

Don't feel bad. This is what everyone means by adapt or die. People are just stubborn and don't get it. Someday you'll be able to look back at them and laugh at their failure to realise your genius. |

Meh. Players are upset because a metric TON of them are skilled in Caldari for sissy mission running, and now that they're finding out that Caldari ships aren't at the top of the list for solo PVP and have to make accommodations for some of their shortcomings they're upset about it.
There is nothing wrong with Caldari ships for PVP. They're just fine. They are highly specialized and do very well within their roles. If you would like something different, TRAIN IT UP.
Torp Ravens with HG Crystal sets: 1k+ DPS, 1K+ tank, very little cap use, no tracking, 30km range and selectable damage type. What more do you want? Oh ok, how about a cruiser that can cloak, jam 5+ ships SOLID from 240km away, and then recloak and STILL CONTINUE TO KEEP THE TARGETS JAMMED? Sure, why not? How about a BC that can passively tank over 900 DPS? Sounds great. Where do I sign up?

I wish i could take the "adapt or die" award of the month, but i started learning caldari ships only after people said "they went down the ****er"
But i am going to say this; my tachraven is gonna be awesome!
