Isn't him being a kayaker a reason enough?
Ignoring that, this is propably the sissiest way a person can possibly die. Death by swan. |

And adult Mute Swan can rip mans hand from it's socket, so no swans aren't just some little ducklings that you feed the bread. A swan is a highly territorial and often will attack anything that comes to it's territory even other water avians, to call a male Mute Swan as vicious would be an understatement.
Also it seems he died because he didn't know how to swim, not because of the swan. |

Canadian Geese are the same way. In fact just a little while ago I was strolling around the pond here at work and I stopped to check out a goose nesting and almost got blindsided by her mate. I was seconds away from ripping off my shirt and yelling 'Come at me bro!' when he backed off. But yeah, there are many who are super aggressive, and that 4 ft wing span is nothing to laugh at. |

Just being within 100 feet is enough to make one upset.
Back in '96 during my first year at University, they kept two trumpeters swans as mascots on the 2 acre lake next to the union.
In late '97 iirc they replaced them with another breed. You couldn't walk by the lake without getting attacked.
Imagine being in the water, and every time you try and break for some air a 30 lbs pissed off bird would attack your face. You have no other option but to suffer through it until you manage to swim out of its territorial zone.
A ****** way to go tbh. |

Met a guy kayaking with a motor cycle helmet. His face was all scars. Horrible. Turned out he had been kayaking without a helmet and got savaged by birds. Stuck in the kayak he could not protect himself. Since then he always wore that helmet religiously.

He should just get a big kayak and wear full plate, then if he rolls over he can be a keel |

Those swans and geese better enjoy bullying humans while they have the chance. Once the Mayan prophecy/asteroid strike/zombie invasion comes, we'll be calling them dinner. |
