Hi, here is a suggestion how to make ship turning better.
Ever notice all eve ships have a set of engines at the rear. They do not move, and yet the ship is able to turn around.
Well why not add Thrust vectoring?
Heres a video of it in action.

This allows you to make a little eye candy of the ship turning without having to add a ton of rocket thrusters to all the ships in interesting places.

Yeah, it'd be nice eye candy. Maneuvering thrusters fire up, the engine size and location depending on the direction change and radial speed change.
Then again one could say that maneuvering is achieved by adjusting the friction of the warp drive bubble, so no need for thrusters. |

But wouldn't that only effect warp? and beside u always warp in a stright line in eve.
So i dont' see how that'd apply in eve? |

It would only be client side, as the actual ship orientation is not 'real' on the server, just direction and velocity. The Client is what does the heading of the hull.
That being said, it would take quite some time to get up and running with this, as thruster points would have ot be added to each model. This, along with little ACTUAL game improvement, would lead me to believe it's unlikely. |

I could see this being done, but limiting the effects of it to drones, fighters, and small ships, larger ships really wouldn't move quickly enough for this to be too noticeable. |

First off the second video is of an R/C plane.
If a real F-22 tried to do that it would disintegrate.
If you want to give people and idea of what thrust vectoring looks like other than dots in the sky that make noise, look at the stand tests of the mig 29.

Also, if these links aren't links, I cba to fix them.

actually what was once said before is when your in a spaceship so advance etc like eve ships it isnt the ship that moves its the the space around it therefore any direction is possible |
