A few times now I have been flying about in space, when people start shooting at me. When my ship is destroyed then they start to shoot at my capusle. I demand they cease fire in local, but they never do cease fire.
What is the point in destroying my capusle? It does no harm and it is a pain to go back to the station where I am delivered to when it is destroy.
Thanks for your input

Relocate your medical clone to a better location then. As for the podding, why not? If you are hostile to the target and the consequences of podding don't matter, you might as well inflict as much damage as possible. A character in a pod can still relay intelligence, so it's better to kill them, unless you have a reason to spare them.

Edited by: Slade Trillgon on 19/01/2009 12:54:04 If you went into .4 or lower space then you can assume that you are going to loose both your ship and your pod so you want to make sure that it is safe to go. So only leave the station in something you are willing to loose.
Set your destination and open up your star map and go to the My Statistics tab you can select the option for the systems to show how many pods destroyed in the last hour. If systems, on your route, light up that means there is likely to be a gate camp. You then avoid the system till it clears up or use an alt to scout the gates out to make sure.
As for your clone, in the star map go to the highlight systems with cloning facilities. Find a system that is close to your current base of operations and set your clone there. This makes the trip after you get podded a little less frustrating.
Good Luck Pilot,

Like others have said, it sounds like you're flying in low sec. For now stay in .5 or higher systems. You also might want to consider joining a corporation if you haven't already. There is strength in numbers.
As for being out numbers, in Eve, numbers help insure victory.
Oh, and they blow up your pod so you'll be forced to spend money to upgrade your clone.

Bolded the answer.
People want to make you suffer.
Why? *shrugs* I guess they do not know it themselves.

Why are you flying somewhere where the locals make it abundantly clear you are not wanted?
If you fly into space controlled by a hostile faction, they will treat you as an enemy and destroy as much of you as they can to inflict maximum damage. If you do not want to suffer that damage, don't go there. If you want to go there, make sure you bring something to the table that allows you to move around there uncontested(like a larger fleet consisting of your friends).
Honor has no place in all out war. Many sectors outside of CONCORD control are in such a state.
You lost at PvP. PvP in EVE means you first make sure that you are certain to defeat the opponent you targeted, and secondly that you make sure that that opponent can not flee the moment he realizes he is outnumbered. Ambushes at warpgates are a popular way of assuring that. Keep that in mind and, as mentioned above, assume that every gate you jump through has a hostile gatecamp waiting for you on the other side unless you know for sure there isn't.

You seem to be confusing Eve - an online spaceship game - with the fictional bit of medieval England that every ****ty fantasy novel was ever written in. |

I said for them to cease fire, if they had ceased fire that would be honorable.

Lets take an example of a Deer Hunter The deer doesn't have ranged weapons it doesn't benefit from custom camouflage or synthetic cover scent. But people still enjoy hunting with rifles. Lets not get started on English Fox Hunting
People enjoy the chase, they have no way of knowing you didn't know how to run. They might even have mistaken for a spy alt character.
It sounds like you got killed a gate camp though; So in your case, you're just a deer who got caught in the headlights, but you can definitely learn to listen for the engine noise next time(figuratively that is). and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Excellent analogy, but that last bit is where it fails, and its why these threads come up as often as they do. There is no engine noise, tire tracks and discarded beer cans, there is nothing whatsoever to indicate a trap. You can learn the hot spots, you can use the map, use a scout alt, all these little things maybe, perhaps, might save you.
That said, everyone here have had that "awww crap, not again" moment when jumping into a camped system. You learn to cope. Stay in it op, theres no glory here, but a lot of fun |

Actually, when entering lowsec, there are some possible indicators, such as amount of people in the system recently and ships/pods killed recently. Admittedly, they don't work always (you might be the first to fall into the trap) but at times, they do.
