Good evening, pilots.
I am sure that many of you will be shocked by the above poster. Pilot Hakatain's public reputation and standing with the Caldari State is near-flawless. He bears the Tovil Star and the Raata cluster for long and dedicated service to the State. He is, or was, a hero of the Caldari people, and it honestly saddens me that I am forced to announce this former champion of our ideals must now be declared a wanted enemy of the Caldari people.
Major Hakatain and his immediate family are charged with:
- Bribery of State officials. - Illegal possession of State secrets. - Sale of State secrets to the Guristas Cartel. - Association with agents of the Guristas Cartel. - Conspiracy to destabilize the Caldari government
Major Hakatain is also individually charged with the following:
- The murder of Provist Agent Iachi Hakanora - The destruction of the Cruiser Washika - The destruction of the Cruiser Avakai - The destruction of the Battleship Onaka-Maru
When Provist agents moved to arrest him early on Monday morning, Pilot Hakatain responded by opening fire, killing one agent and critically wounding another. He was intercepted by Home Guard ships while attempting to cross the border into Gallente Federation space. In the ensuing battle, Pilot Hakatain destroyed two Home Guard cruisers and a Home Guard Scorpion, resulting in the deaths of four hundred and twelve crew members.
At this time, it is not believed that Pilot Hakatain has defected to Gallente Federation. His present whereabouts are unknown. His assets within the Caldari State have been seized.
A reward of 50 Million InterStellar Kredits is offered for information leading to the capture of this renegade. A supplementary reward of 1 Million InterStellar Kredits is offered for information leading to the capture of:
- Iroh Kuwabi-Hakatain. (Suspect's father) - Arianna Hakatain. (Suspect's sister) - Jana Hakatain. (Suspect's sister)
Furthermore, we request that the following individuals contact the office of the Caldari Providence Directorate as soon as possible so that we may take witness statements:
- Either CEO Toushi Kimura or Pilot Nathan Harrow on behalf of “Duty.” Corporation. - Major Jude Kopenhagen.
Thank you for your time, Pilots. -Special Agent Jirai Kovin Caldari Providence Directorate Office of Criminal Investigation

I'd ask for verification codes, only you're obviously not going to give them to me, anyway. And I wouldn't be able to do very much with them if you did. |

50 million being a fairly insignificant amount aside, what do you hope to accomplish? He is a podder.
I mean, aren't there any number of other, worse traitors you could be pursuing? I've mostly found Mr Hakatain fairly harmless. If you tried to apprehend a podder with conventional ships, you should just be grateful casualties weren't worse.

Given, as you say, Mr. Hakatain's long record of service to the State, I find it extremely unlikely that this statement is legitimate. I'll await his word on the matter, if it please you...or even if it doesn't. |

Ah yes, my credentials
A series of Provist, Home Guard and OCI verification codes scroll down the side of Agent Kovin's message. Thoroughly testing all of them takes about five minutes, and they all check out, with independent verification provided by CONCORD.
I apologize for not including them before, my office was in considerable uproar last night dealing with the destruction of those ships and the death of our agent.
I'd like to address a few points here, while I have the opportunity:
1) Pilot Harrow, we are entirely aware of your corporation's neutrality, and accepting of it. No member of Duty. is charged with conspiracy, we are merely requesting a witness statement which can be conducted over secure FTL comms. Your reluctance to assist in the capture of a friend and colleague is entirely understandable, and so the offer remains open.
2) To pilot "Silver Night": I would contend, sir, that Mjr. Hakatain's bounty is entirely correct for the crimes he has committed, which are, as you point out, eclipsed by the crimes of others. And please, allow my office to handle the question of how we intend to apprehend a capsuleer for trial.
3) We have already pursued the Stacmon lead, which turned out to be a decoy. In any case, we do not have authority to conduct an arrest within the sovereignty of the Gallente Federation.
Thank you again for your time, ladies and gentlemen

As for your extended offer, nah, we're alright thanks. We dont want to make this our concern until someone tries to claim that 50million, or you confess as to which corporation your REALLY working for behind the disguise of the government... Then, maybe then, we will talk.

Agent Kovin, I request that from now on if you have intentions of saying humorous and/or shocking things you give us warning before hand. I wasted a bit of my last bottle of Khanid wine when I read this causing it to 'go down the wrong pipe' as it were. *Inara gestures off to the side, causing the camera to follow where a couple of her slaves are diligently scrubbing* If that stains, you can expect a bill for it's replacement.
*the camera returns to Inara*
Now as I was saying, I think the chances of ol' Stitcher being 'declared a wanted enemy of the Caldari people' is about as good as me being declared Heth's successor. As for the specific charges... well, I'm curious to see this one go to trial and your proofs brought to light.
On a lighter note, they must be letting you agents out of your box more; either that or you are simply horrible at filling the role and this is a fake.
*Inara reaches and a brief snipit of Agent Kovin's words appear*
Originally by: Agent Kovin ...and it honestly saddens me that I am forced to announce this former champion of our ideals...
Trust me when I say I've had more than my fair share of experience with agents from different MegaCorps within the state to know that you are not allowed to express your opinion, and you would be held culpable for even referring to a current traitor being known as a champion. If he was truly responsible for the destruction of non-egger ships, especially a Scorpion-class Battleship, the death toll would be much higher than the numbers you stated. And the idea that any of the nations are foolish enough to seize the assets of a Pilot is laughable, Pilot hangers are more secure than the office of the Empress.
You are proving to be rather entertaining, I hope you don't disappear too quickly *grin and wink*.
That brings up another question, which MegaCorp are you from, and how did you get into the Pilot program to begin with? Or are you illegally acquiring access to these channels?
Oh, and good luck getting any Pilots from Duty. to turn traitor on one of their own.

*Inara opens her channel, an expression of shock and curiosity fighting for dominance on her face. She opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. Her eyes are seen moving back and forth, rereading a previous transcript. Finally she collects herself and manages to speak, but lacking her typical command of language.*
Turned traitor? But how, when? What in the hell is going on? I understand no official ties to the State... and your disdain for Heth, but...
*Inara stands and walks to a wet bar in her study, the camera following as programed, where she pours a glass of liquid with a greenish tint to it and throws it back*
Welcome to the list of Pilots the State doesn't like. I'm curious what could cause this, should you happen by The Gate or the Econics station here in Rancer, when I'm around, I'll buy you a drink in exchange for a story.
*As another glass is poured Inara chuckles slightly*
And Stitcher, if Heth dies and they come knocking on my door to fill his office, I'm blaming you for it. |

So, Stitcher is working with the Gurista now? He's bribed a State official(s)? Fired on official State servicemen and vessels?
Short reaction... Laughable, to be quite honest.
By the way, who are you again, and why should anyone of us lift a finger to help you or... Heth, for that matter?
I'm asking in honesty here, I refuse to believe your silly accusation and even if it was true, while I have no love of the Guristas I don't like Heth either. I'd like to hear a response to this from Stitcher himself, if you don't mind.
P.S - Duty. Don't answer to anyone but ourselves, not the Federal, Republican, Imperial nor State governments, or anyone else for that matter. Your request will likely be ignored, but I'll leave it to our directors to grant the official response.
I for one would like some damning proof of this clam, among other things.

Edited by: Agent Kovin on 20/01/2009 13:52:16 The short answer, Pilot Bloodbird is... yes. Major Hakatain does appear to be working with the Guristas, he did fire on State servicemen and vessels, and he has bribed a number - how large a number I am not at liberty to disclose - of State officials.
He has even had the decency to publicly admit to his crimes, as you can see.
Our investigation is wholly legal, and we have provided all appropriate credentials and proof of our legitimacy.
Commander Harrow, your reluctance to assist the State authorities on this matter has been noted. Thank you for your time.

Agent Kovin. I have come to know of Pilot Hakatain, and even if the charges are true, his reasons are his own. I respect that. I also respect the man, and his stated ideals and opinions, and can even like him, even though I have never had the honor to meet him.
So, I cannot wish you luck, and would not seek to aid you, even if I could.
Pilot Hakatain, should you wish it, I can arrange safe passage for yourself, and anyone else for whom you may deem it necessary, to a safe location, aboard one of my Houses various vessels. I can also, should you wish it, arrange for their care and comfort planetside, when they arrive at their eventual destination.
Perhaps your siblings, or father, would wish to take this offer? I understand how being "on the run" can be both terrifying and stressful. If you yourself do not wish to take this, or other offers of safe conduct, of which I am sure there are many, perhaps all of you would have a better chance of escaping if you split up?
Should you accept, I give you my word as a Lord and Holder that they will be well cared for and taken to the location specified.
At any rate, I wish you luck, Pilot Hakatain. Godspeed. |

And so destiny once again manifests itself upon the troubled one.
In the the short communications that have transgressed between myself and Captain Hakatain, it is was always evident that he would finally make a move, a sacrifice some would say in order to.. well lets just say we each choose our path even when we are blind to see where we are headed.
My condolences on this state of affairs my old friend, I have already contacted some of our mutual partners and informed them of events.
I must however express my distaste at the apparent eagerness of Mr Verone. My sources indicate there is an.. interest in your services in the name of barbaric piracy. I urge you take time to focus your mind and choose your path, steering clear of the promise of ill begotten avarice, and of wanton bloodshed. I shall be watching as always over you.

I wouldn't call what Verone does "barbaric piracy", Miss Desaille. I would call it..."honorable piracy". VETO isn't known for being exceptionally violent or for dishonoring ransoms. In fact, they've garnered a well-deserved reputation for the opposite.
