suppose a system has a triple bs spawn (A), and so does the next (B), kill 1 bs, switch to next system, kill BS.
at this point, if you go back to to the first system, can you kill a bs, and get the sec gain?
so basically
A > B > A > B
or do you have to A > B > C > D for 20 minutes, before you can get sec from A again?
(presuming the idea that session change via jumping allows more sec gain, then i gues you can A > B > A) |

Eh last I checked, if you kill 2 BS, you get sec boost worth 2 BS. Pointless to hop back and forth because it only UPDATES (as in shows up in your security) every 20 minutes or when you leave system. So yes, if you want to create lag for people and take longer to raise sec status, go A>B>A>B. |

Doesnt matter how you do it, you get a sec increase for all NPC you killed within the 15 or 20min of each update. |

oh, right! i was under impression you only got the sec raise of the highest thing u killed, but, it seems your saying its cumulative for every kill.
so if i kill
2bs, 1bc, 3 cruisers, i'll get the raise from each added into the 20 minute update?
or is it just the 2 bs? |

Should be all, if I am not mistaken.... Unless someone has other info on sec increase... |

It is NOT cumilative for each kill. If it WERE I would be +5.0 right now.
The mechanic works that you get a sec boost for the BIGGEST rat you killed in the system you were in. Each system starts a new timer. the bounties come in like normal, with each complied every 15 minutes and sent to your wallet. Sec status is figured differently, and applied every 15 minutes by the system timer. Going simply A-B-A-B will not be as effective as more than two systems, but it sure is better than just one. |

At 0.005% per rat or something like that, I don't see how it's not viable :] |

so, if i could find a string of say, 3 or 4 systems i could rat in, and it took me roughly 3-4 minutes to find, and kill a bs rat, then that would be the "optimum" for raising sec?.
trying to pack in as many systems with "big ship" kills as possible? infact, looking at it this way, rather than focusing on timers or whatnot, i should just focus on getting a kill, moving next door, getting a kill, going to next place, etc etc, then 20 mins later, just work my way back? :D
getting the hang of this now

Don't even bother. You'll bore yourself to death. Stay in low, it's fun out here.

What rats are you shooting? Highsec frigates?
BS rats give you like a 0.03% boost. IF you rat right It should take a week to get from -5.0 to -1.99 or as high as 0.0

What exactly do you mean by "rat right" because I too am trying to raise my sec and tbh its a major pain. It seems pretty damn slow even killing BS rats. |
