Not sure if I posted this before, but if not...
Any chance of a block feature for the forum? Some of thes imbeciles do my nut in, and if I didnt have to trudge through the ****e they post I'd appreciate it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

There is no need for a block feature. You are perfectly capable of not reading the posts of people you don't like yourself. No one is pushing those post onto you and forcing you to read them.
If the mere existence of other people and their posts (no matter the content) offend you so bad, you should probably readjust your perspective on people and not demand a method to remove them from your perception from third parties.

A very popular but wrong argument... Independently of liking the requested feature, simple question to you: do you first look the author before reading stuff?? lol |

There are several people that I intentionally skip when browsing the forum. Their opinion is of no value to me, so I don't need to invest time to read their usual drivel. Sometimes I look over their posts quick to verify my opinion of them and sometimes even reevaluate it, depending of what they're writing.
A block feature is wholly unnecessary. |

I would not go as far to say that, since the majority of people don't mind the user name to the posting before reading it and then realizing "w00t that sucker again". I dont believe you check user names first each fcking time youre opening a forum or particular thread. |

Damn fine idea, one I myself put forward six months or more ago.
Yes, you can choose not to read a post .. provided the author is the one you loathe. But what about all the replies? Most threads contain 80% nonsensical posts with little meaning to the actual topic and I would love to be able to wipe those.
A 5 pager is lucky to have 10 relevant posts these days so the idea is solid. |

Isn't there a firefox plug-in that does this already?

you'd be wrong. those of us who like to think of ourselves as mature adults are quite capable of having virtual "ignore"lists in our head. and the benefit is, if the same people post on other forums, i can ignore them there too!
its a cross-platform, 100% totally bug free system. you should try it! |

I agree here. If you don't like someone, don't read thier post. If somone is harassing you, they get banned. Censorship is contrary to the idea of an open discusion.
Besides, even I have something worthwhile to say every once in a while. If there were ignore lists, I'm sure I'd be on most of them by now .
