After looking at my hanger and trying to decide if my old Comet is really 2 years old, I thought, ya know it would be quite slick if there was a little field in the attributes page with the ships "build date" or the date it came off the production line.
I personally think this would be quite cool, not just for my own builds, but could you imagine buying a Raven off the market and then finding out it was built 3 or 4 years ago?
Just my 2 cents.... |

While your at it, why not list who produced it too. |

I really hate to be the one to point out that this would prevent the items/ships from being stackable - because I do like the idea
However, the attributes of an assembled ship could display when that assembling took place. The information would only be lost if the ship is repackaged.

what happens when you repackage something? The date would have to be erased due to how the database stores it. Now if you had an assembled date it would stay until you repackaged it but what's the point of that? |

this is a more compatible solution. as for what is the point of it, i ahve a hauler i reckon hasn't been repackaged for about 13 months.

Yeah, the wouldn't be stackable. Though it would be kind of neat. It's also sad that it's kind of too late for the people who built items back when Eve was in Bata and right after launch (cause those would be the coolest items).
However, an assembly date wouldn't be difficult? Still, not as cool unless the assembly date could use the logs to find out when current ships were assemble... And people didn't think to leave a ship assembled just so they could have an ancient ship.
Still, a cool idea. |
