I do have one suggestion I keep posting on every thread about "small stuff": Can we please get a better behavior for the double-click in the "My Orders" tab of "My Wallet"? Currently it does a "show info", which can already be accomplished by a single click on the (i)-icon at the end (which I also never use). Please assign the double-click to perform a "Show Market Details", which is something every industrialist constantly uses! I'm sure (hopeful) it's a change of one or two lines of code to switch the dblclck-handler. Please pretty prettyplease! |

Please let us copy and paste ship fittings to and from EVE in the EVEMon / EFT compatible format via the clipboard. The current way to import and export ship fittings via xml files is a bit too complicated to be a comfortable way.

We need some way of being able to apply logistics without having your fleet member as a locked target.
Its very annoying when you go to fire on your target, only for it to pop and you end up firing at your fleet mate

Just tried that with "transactions". I can get selected items to copy, but with nothing selected, nothing gets copied.
What I did: Go to wallet Click on transactions tab Click on Load. Select nothing. Hit control-C Go to Excel Paste: Fails: No results Go to eve, click the "orders" tab. Select nothing. Hit control-c Go to Excel Paste: Success! My orders do paste into Excel.
As I can get it to work with the "orders" tab, I must be doing it right.
I can shift click select all the transactions and copy them successfully. But if nothing is selected, nothing is copied.
The same bug is present in the "Journal" tab. If you have to hit "load" before data shows, there is an issue.
Thanks so much for this work. Hope you can get the bug too!

How would any new player figure that out? If i didn't read this dev blog i wouldn't know about it, and I would try and try to copy items from one folder to another using different controls. Or does crtl-C crtl-V still work on top of this option?
I hope you can understand on concern. you should have a button for even, on the ui a copy to folder button. Instead of all of these cool hidden features eve gets. |

Awesome changes!
I have a tiny request: copying something (e.g. from a "scroll", but also test in an evemail) works by pressing Ctrl+C. That is also the official windows shortcut for copying, so everybody is used to it.
But in windows you have also the possibility to use the old shortcuts: Copy: Ctrl+Ins Paste: Shift+Ins Cut: Shift+Del
Would it be possible to make that work in EVE too? (of course additionally) I am so used to them and always get angry at myself for carefully selecting something, pressing Ctrl+Ins, changing to excel and... No, didnt work :( Again.
So pretty please, can you do that? |

You're right. But is non-intuitive on how to get focus in the scroll without clicking on it and clicking on it selects an entry. I eventually clicked on it, but below all entries, and that made it work. Maybe make clicking on the "transactions" tab after hitting the load button gets focus? Or Have focus transfer automagically after hitting load?
But I can live with it as it is now.

This way, new players trying to figure stuff out, don't go "wtf why isn't this ship showing up?" it seems so minor but that kind of thing would frustrate me just a little as a beginner.
That way, it keeps you from even being able to select it just to get the notification later on, but it will also let you know why you can't select it. |

I fly 3 races of ships and I would love to be able to have more than 100 fits in the fitting browser. I understand that these 100 are stored on the server and allowing more will cause problems. Would it be possible have it look in a player designated folder locally and load additional fits from there and allow us to pick which 100 we want saved to the server? And have it able to read fits in all the standard formats text, XML, etc. |

Great changes. I still think little things like this are just as important as new features. The market highlight for my orders is such a simple but huge change to game play.
One of the things that seems to be missed in all of this is changes to the science and industry window. It hasn't been updated in years and I would really like to see some attention there.
Here's a list of simple changes I have suggested several times already but I think are really simple but very noticeable things that will improve the game in the same way as the list in this blog.
- Show number of manufacturing and invention/research jobs available in the blueprints tab of science & industry - i.e. Change Max Manufacturing Jobs 10 to Remaining Manufacturing Jobs 4/10 (showing 4 jobs left)
- Right click for any blueprint, only show options that are available for that type. Right now it shows all.. For example only show:
T1 Copy - Manufacture and Invent T2 Copy - Manufacture T1 BPO - Manufacture, Copy, Material Research, Time Research T2 BPO - Manufacture, Copy, Material Research, Time Research T3 BPC - Manufacture Relic (not a BP but same issue) - Reverse Engineering
- Manufacturing - Add an option to manufacturing for T2 BPC's to 'Manufacture All' that automatically populates the Runs button with the max runs for the BPC. I.e. 10 for most items
- Inventing - Click Flow, changes in bold: Right click, choose invent. CCP change - Highlight Pick Installation (Selecting OK doesn't make any sense here), double click select installation, CCP change - Highlight OK Button. CCP change - Highlight Accept Quote button
- Manufacturing - Click Flow, changes in bold: Right click, choose manufacturing. CCPchange - Highlight Pick Installation, double click select installation, CCP change - highlight OK Button.
- R.A.M. use - Change R.A.M.s to only need the number required after damage calculated instead of 1 for each run. I.e. right now, 1 ram takes 30% damage per run can be used 2 more times but game required 3 rams, not 1. (Or just get rid of them, what purpose do they serve anyway? Don't we already have enough extra components/items to add for T2 production?)
- Only show industry slots at POS labs/arrays that are ONLINE

Can we choose to open a Quick bar folder like a market category so that we can see them all together?
Could we open a market category or quick bar folder to show all of the items' details? New column in the market details saying which item it is. (with a slow load warning, and/or load abort if it's taking too long and we changed our mind) This would be great for checking prices of the same item type of multiple meta levels. Or maybe checking prices of all 4 cruiers of a race. Or maybe cruisers of all races! Sometimes I wanna buy a shuttle but I wanna see the prices of all of them cause I want w/e is cheaper in the station I happen to be in so I have to show details on each of the 4 shuttles individually.

By the way, the reason (I imagine) that the tooltips defaulted to the text in the field was so you could hover over a text that was too large for the visible field and see a tooltip of the full text - have you removed this functionality? |

are you gonna fix the r.a.m. rounding issue for t2 blueprints cause this is annoying ass hell that i have to 2500 ram to produce 2500 drones/crystalls/ammo etc, but i only need 250 r.a.m
Tbh this bug has been ingame for soon to be 3-+ years and its still not fixed. |

How would any new player figure that out? If i didn't read this dev blog i wouldn't know about it, and I would try and try to copy items from one folder to another using different controls. Or does crtl-C crtl-V still work on top of this option?
I hope you can understand on concern. you should have a button for even, on the ui a copy to folder button. Instead of all of these cool hidden features eve gets.
Another way to fix this would be to add a list of shortcuts in the Help pin window hat helps you play the game when your new, or old.
This is an excellent point.
But thank you for the updates just the same! Any work on UI improvements is always welcome!! |

While you're working on tooltips, can you please make the delay configurable for in-space brackets and modules?
When tooltips keep splashing unstacked brackets across my screen when I'm just dragging the mouse across the display, it gets irritating. This litter doesn't go away until I click somewhere "safe" on the screen too.
Hell, even trying to use that unstacked list of brackets is hard too, because just moving the mouse up to the correct moon or belt is bound to make the mouse cross another bracket in space and instantly change the list (because there is no delay).
It's also a pain to try and change ammo when the tooltip wants to jump up and get in the way of what I'm doing the instant I stop moving the mouse.
tl;dr: Tooltips with configurable delay, or at least *some* delay would be awesomesauce.

Currently, when making a request to a server we send along (if trusted) important information like your current solar system, pilot name, stuff like that.
Can we pretty please with sugar on top get the CCPEVE object in javascript to be able to access that information too? As it is rather clunky to have to make a request to the server to update your current location (For example).
Every time in my locator tools that I want to change system, I have to make a request to the server and bounce back the solar system name. While I currently do that and it works. I'd much rather have the page be able to access that information directly and update the page instead of doing a complete page reload.
It is just a wee little thing. You are the internet equivalent of a Mars bar filled with stupid. |

Could this be restored as default when the text does not entirely fit in it's current field, and turned off otherwise? It's not so much that it's useful in any one place, as it is useful when there's a text field you don't usually need long, and you have to stretch it to see everything. Eg. Location in market details, you usually don't care about this, but if you did need to see it, it would be a lot more convenient to hover over it than it would be to stretch the field out, then probably scroll to the right, then read it, then compress the field, and scroll back to the left. |

I would like to leave comment related to the "see which orders are yours in the "Details" tab" function; would be also nice to see which orders are mine in the "corporation orders"-tab. If you can add that to the pile in some point, would be kewl.

Suggest only one addition to the view at the bottom level (the list of who's targetting): Distance from target. Get the client to pull this already existing information from the overview instead of retransmitting it from the server for this menu item. Leave the menu for other special actions like align, etc.

Putting on my backseat driver hat, would it not be more efficient to modify the market details query to fetch another column that the server would flag if a record belongs to the player? This does probably require to modify the protocol, and not just the UI, but would remove the need for another trip to the server. |

There is one little addition I would like to request if possible. When copying from the "Attributes" tab of a blueprint, due to the layout, it is pasted as 2 columns in excel/spreadsheet program of choice. However, due to the way the Bill of Materials tab is formatted, with the materials in [ ] brackets after the name, it is pasted as one single column.
Would it be possible to get the Bill of Materials tab formatted similar to the Attributes tab, with the numbers of materials on a second line, so we get it pasted into a second column?
I hope this makes sense :) If need be I can provide screenshots of what I mean. |

Okay, here's my pet peeve, and one I hope can make it into a patch some day soon; a lack of any indicator of meta level on the Show Info: Variations tab or in the Compare Tool.
When you Show Info on an item, and go to the Variations tab, the items are sorted by meta group, but not by meta level. So this tells me at a glance which variations are faction etc, but its not terribly useful because when I'm looking at items on the Market or in Contracts I've already got that little indicator in the upper-left corner of item icons for anything that isn't Tech I.
The Compare Tool fares no better! It allows us (again) to sort items by Meta Group, but I don't actually get any granularity within the group. So I can't quickly see which Officer or Tech I items have a higher meta level than others.
When I'm buying items off the market to fit a ship up in a hurry and I don't have time to dig through item stats to see which of the set of racial jammers I'm using is better than the other, this would be very useful. Having the Meta Level column for my station hangar is very useful when selecting items out of my own inventory, but it would be handy to have a similar option when I'm browsing item variations that doesn't involve opening a ton of Show Info windows and scrolling through attributes.
Here's another; an option to let us shift-drag from a stack onto our ship, so you can say, shift-drag a stack of warp core stabilizers onto your empty low slots and type in 5 (like you would if you were going to divide a stack) so you can immediately fit those 5 sexy WCS to your Pwnmobile. Maybe also let us do the same with selecting and dragging multiple unpacked modules to empty module slots on your ship.
And I guess one other: why can't we swap modules on our ship at the Fitting Window without taking them off first? Right now if you drag one module over the top of an existing module, you get an error saying a module is already fitted in that location. Well, duh! What if I want to swap their position on my ship? Or what if I wanted to quickly swap one fitted module with another that's not? I think the correct behavior should be that if you drag an already-fitted module over another already-fitted module, they should swap positions, unless they're different slots which would throw the "derp you can't fit that type of module there" message. If you drag a module that isn't fitted over the top of a module that is fitted, you get a "Do you want to replace X-item-name with Y-item-name?" prompt.
So that's what I've got. Love the little fixes, I really do. I've brought a lot of people into EVE and some of them were just turned off by the crap which doesn't make sense, confused them, and made them feel dumb. I don't want EVE itself to be any less complex, but there's some stuff which just feels clunky sometimes and can be a real turnoff to someone trying to learn the game.

And also ... please take a look at the Margin Trading skill being AUTOMATICALLY in effect 100% of the time for all buy orders. Now, there are many ways one utilizes the wallet, there are SOME TRANSACTIONS which I DON'T WANT Margin Trading skill being applied for various reasons.
That skill is like an all or nothing. Once you've trained it, you're stuck with its effects. Ideally, there should be an option when setting up the buy order, to give players the choice whether to apply the Margin Trading skills or not.
Now picture this analogy, look at the drone dmg notifications - it almost virtually drowns your away own turret/missile dmg notification. There is no way to turn it off! |

Why not just make ctrl+clicking the icons themselves make lock the aggressors? I don't particularly care about the order, alphabetically, by character ID, randomly - whichever is easiest to implement. But if one frigate is scramming me I want to be able to lock it and apply guns ASAP without having to go through three menus. If I'm getting pointed by fifteen people I don't care about the order either as I'm dead anyway. |

1. even from you example of copying transactions, the field with price is copied with text ISK also, so if pasted in excel the cell will be formatted as a text and not a number, we'd have to manually delete " ISK" so we can perform calculations on the cells So if you could arrange that "ISK" is put on another column :)
2. from the marker orders, quantity is pasted into excel as xx/yyy. Myself I am mostly interested in remaining quantity, could you make that this data is formatted in 2 columns, 1st with remaining qtty xx and the 2nd with all qtty yyy? Also as it is now on test, paste from orders something like 6/36 and cell will be formatted as a date, 01.06.1936.

The results of the market queries are heavily cached throughout the cluster; and we can cache the results because all players get the exact same response when they ask for orders for a particular type in a particular region. If we start tailoring the responses for each player by adding a player-specific column then the caching doesn't work anymore, or rather we could only cache per (player, type, region) triplet instead of the (type, region) pair. Very minor item, and probably mentioned before. We need more numbers to use "thousand separators". It would be good if all of the numbers which show up in different places used the same format as ISK, with some character that breaks very long numbers into manageable pieces. In my client, that means that there are commas separating the long numbers into sets of thee digits each. Such as:
42,525,000 -- this 42525000 -- instead of this
The un-separated numbers that really bug me show up on "Show Info" tab of blueprints, and in the contract information screen. But I'm sure that there are more of them out there. |

Yes, CCP can we get limit orders please? Could be used for both buying and selling.
Could be done mostly client side too.
Allow the player to specify units and price. The client loops though sales/purchases until quantity is exhausted or limit price can no longer be met.
Each iteration of the loop, the client can pop up the details of the next loop using the standard 'simple' dialog box with a continue or cancel button. If the command (order) sent to the server is no longer true, then throw back the standard error and return to the loop. If the order server side is true, execute the order and return to the loop subtracting from the quantity specified by the user. If the user cancels, exit the loop.
Upon condition of quantity not exhausted and next available price not met, the last loop could place a market order to buy/sell at the limit price using the 'advanced' window with the remaining quantity. If the player clicks ok, place the order, if they cancel, don't place the order.

I do agree, but I sense there is some fear playing with the server. :) The entire limit call (the order) could be sent to the server and executed there as well. The cost to that is the player looses some control. That loss of control does not bother me so long as I am assured of the limit, I know how much is going in/out within acceptable deviation, so it is not a huge deal, others though may be scared of such things.

Ok, when you make a sell all button... make a (instant) buy all button after double clicking on a sell order :), maybe make such a button optional. To buy small orders all over a region and hand filling exact count is annoying, since the market is refreshing on the backend.
And then, what about these?
- Make it possible to PAGE DOWN / PAGE UP within the orders overview or add a regional select box within orders overview, so you can see the orders of a certain region, including, "current region"
- Set threshold for wallet blink
- Display the number of available contracts constantly while you are within the contract creation wizard
- Filter in assets based on # of items

Some thoughts about the fitting window. Please look at the matter if possible.
1. Differences in behaviour between HUD module buttons and module icons on the fitting window:
1.1. In space, you can group turrets by simple drag-n-drop; for some strange reason, the fitting window requires you to use Shift-drag for turret grouping, which is extremely counter-intuitive.
1.2. If you're using the fitting window while in space, all you have to do in order to off-line a module is to make a single click; even though this action can be potentially dangerous, you don't get a request for confirmation. Off-lining a module through the HUD requires you to use a context menu, which, in turn, triggers a confirmation window, thus preventing you from doing this accidentally. I don't know if it's possible to introduce location-aware behaviour for the fitting window, but it would be a welcome change for those who are using it pretty much everywhere (both on stations and in space).
2. Commands missing from context menus displayed in the fitting window:
2.1. 'Remove Charge' is absent from the context menu displayed for loaded turrets and launchers.
2.2. 'View Market Details' is missing from all context menus, which is inconvenient.
3. Fitting window "minibuttons":
3.1. Minibuttons are redundant.
3.2. The 'Online/Offline' minibutton is doubly redundant, because the same action can be performed in a much more comfortable way by clicking on the module icon.
3.3. Minibuttons are very small, which makes a huge impact on their usability and allows for accidental clicking.
3.4. Using the minibuttons requires the user to move the cursor in a diagonal line; failure to do so with enough precision results in the loss of focus. |

Great DevBlog to match some nice and welcome changes.

- Right click for any blueprint, only show options that are available for that type. Right now it shows all. I.e time research for a T1 BPC doesnt make sense. For example only show the following options for BPs:
T1 Copy - Manufacture and Invent T2 Copy - Manufacture T1 BPO - Manufacture, Copy, Material Research, Time Research T2 BPO - Manufacture, Copy, Material Research, Time Research T3 BPC - Manufacture Relic (not a BP but same issue) - Reverse Engineering
- Manufacturing - Add an option to manufacturing for T2 BPC's to 'Manufacture All' that automatically populates the Runs button with the max runs for the BPC. I.e. 10 for most items
- Inventing - Click Flow to allow more enter button selectiom, changes in bold: Right click, choose invent. CCP change - Highlight Pick Installation (Selecting OK doesn't make any sense here), double click select installation, CCP change - Highlight OK Button. CCP change - Highlight Accept Quote button
- Manufacturing - Click Flow to allow more enter button selectiom, changes in bold: Right click, choose manufacturing. CCPchange - Highlight Pick Installation, double click select installation, CCP change - highlight OK Button
- R.A.M. use - Change R.A.M.s to only need the number required after damage calculated instead of 1 for each run. I.e. right now, 1 ram takes 30% damage per run can be used 2 more times but game required 3 rams, not 1. (Or just get rid of them, what purpose do they serve anyway? Don't we already have enough extra components/items to add for T2 production?)
- Only show industry slots at POS labs/arrays that are ONLINE

It's all good, but when you will create ability to split stack from assets and will add SEARCH box in window with items from your hangar?
I mean, if we far away from own station and some corp mate need some item, we go - ASSETS - SEARCH - type item name - we get result 10 items in station for example, but we need only 2, we right click on this 10 stacked items - CREATE contract - and here we get problems because we will get list of 1000 items from this station, and it's impossible to find only one in this list and click on it - SPLIT STACK, and if you have 10 items, and you need only 2, you need to type 8, and only after this you can click NEXT to create contract. But if contract not created, you need to do everything from beginning and find again from 1000 items in this window own item to split it.
Please add simply SEARCH box in this list of items when window show all your items from this station, because it's really hard to create contract and give item in fight or in any other situation. And change this split option, so if I need to create contract with only 2 items, for split I will need to type 2 and not 8. Can you imagine how hard is it if you have 247467985 stacked item and you need to give only 325000 for example. |

Now is there a chance you will restore Overview functionality?
Like, that toggle for the mouse-over lock people have been asking for. You know, before they gave up hope.
Or the fact Overview sorts completely wrong when items are highlighted. If I sort my overview by icons, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that the highlighted yellow out-gate appears below the fifteen billion yellow secure containers anchored at my in-gate, rather than with the rest of the gate icons. |

Also, I started a thread few months ago about personal wallet divisions (Link) and few people mention devs already like the idea, any ETA if and when it could be implemented. Since you are doing changes for the market this seems related to make "marketing" easier. |

WHAT THE HELL IS SCROLLS? I like to see myself as an avid gamer. From the Atari2600 in early 80's, pen and paper RPG, board games, programming Basic and later C/C++, for a while GM in a small MMO, fulltime gamer for a decade, Mud- and textbased adventure pioneer on private BBS using don't-remember-how-******-modem for the Amiga500, played most bigger MMO-titles on the market, *gasps for air*.. ..but scrolls? Mouse wheel scrolls? I find that hard to fit with the text. Scrolls, like spell-scrolls in RPGs? There's no such thing in EVE, closest would be BPC but that seems completely irrelevant in these subjects, and very confusing?
I just can't figure out what the **** you mean, maybe at 30+ I should retire, my brain is just not what it used to be anymore..

haha, I'm sorry...obviously I mean stuff that scrolls ....We always just talk about scrolls, and I guess I just assumed people knew what I meant by "scroll". It's basically anything you can get a scroll bar on.
Examples of scrolls: Overview "Browse" tab in market Skill list in charactersheet List of mails in your mail window.

Pretty much what it sounds like, a tab where you can see a history of recently finished/closed/fullfilled market orders

I don't know what kind of wallet you have, but mine only shows currently active orders. It does show transaction history, which needs to be cross-checked vs the order tab |

Hey,
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I'd really like a better way to tag targets. Currently you have to scroll through all these lists and it really takes time. Couldn't there be some system where have some hotkey that lets you tag targets and click them sequentially to add tags in that order? It would save a lot of time when running complexes as a group or during incursions! Thanks.

I'll admit from the outset that I understand about 1% of the inherent possibilities coded into the UI.
I did use the tooltips in the Market tab to determine a particular buyers purchase range and adjust my price/ range to compete when buying. Now that it's gone I have no idea how to find a buyers purchase range. Can I turn the tooltips back on or is there another way for me to get that info in the Market tab?
Without this I don't know how to competitively price an buy order. Thx! |

I hope you can understand on concern. you should have a button for even, on the ui a copy to folder button. Instead of all of these cool hidden features eve gets.
Another way to fix this would be to add a list of shortcuts in the Help pin window hat helps you play the game when your new, or old. This is an excellent point. But thank you for the updates just the same! Any work on UI improvements is always welcome!!

The first is rather trivial, can we please get a "find in contracts" entry in the context menu for the market quickbar, search results or in the category tree (basically everything in the left part of the window)? Especially with faction/officer stuff now on the market, rare items will continue to be sold to some extent on contracts (or at least it's worth a look). This also extends to faction/pirate ships. I already have it displayed. At the moment I do a "Show info" just so I can get to the "find in contracts" entry in the window-menu (top left corner) of that window (and then I close it).
Secondly: If you install an industrial job (manufacturing, invention, copy, whatever), after opening the window with all the option (usually with a rightclick on the BPO/BPC and selecting the job type) one has to click "Pick Installation". This window that comes up is all kinds of annoying for tiny and unnecessary reasons: First of all, I can't double click an installation. If I do, I get a message box, telling me to please pick an assembly line. Why can't it automatically pick any empty line, if any are available? Secondly, if I single-click an installation I then obviously want to select an assembly line, but if it's a POS installation I have to wait for the "filter"-part of the window to slowly creep scroll down until I can select the actual line (or it's rather hit-and-miss, most times I end up accidentally re-sorting by some column as I've hit a column header that moved itself under my cursor). Can't this filter-thingy just appear instead? I'm sure this was originally well intentioned ("oh, let's make it look pretty and appear sllooowwwly from the top"), but nowadays where I have to do this 10 times in a row to install Invention- or manufacturing jobs, this becommes REALLY annoying rather quickyl!
On a final note: Thank you SO MUCH for the stuff that got deployed today! Especially own market order highlights are just awesome, also the tiny fact that the overview after jumping or undocking is correctly sorted right away is a huge anti-annoyance-measure. I don't know if you've had anything to do with the second thing, I'm just gonna credit you nonetheless: so really, thank you! |

I posted a request somewhere else for a fitting window layout option that was really cut down to the bare minimum. Something with just the icon boxes for each mod and some essential ship stats. The current fitting window takes up most of my screen making it hard to drag modules on and off my fitting screen, a smaller version would be much nicer. |

When I wrote the above comments I wasn't in EVE. Now that I've gone back in to review, I figured out my problem.
I have my Market and Wallet windows directly next to one another, side by side. This has been comfortable for me, works well, and I've just never changed it. The Market window is small enough that I can't see "Range, Min Volume, and Expires In"(and didn't even remember they where there). The only way for me to see that information was to hover over the line. Voila! All the info I need in the tooltip (I didn't even know they were called tooltips). No scrolling.
I actually liked having the tooltips. It helped me keep my desktop neater. Now I'll have to reconfigure my desktop. Unfortunately there is no way to scroll sideways in any window to see headings that are off-screen. And you can't move headings around. I can only reduce the size of the fixed heading which also reduces the information I get see. I can put the windows on top of one another but then there is a lot of up and down scrolling to see all the orders then. I want to see as much info as possible without scrolling.
Anyway, I for one would like to see tooltips back. One vote here. Thx for all the hard work btw. I especially like that I can mark my orders with a color. It's helpful. |

While in most cases I'm glad that the not so useful tooltips are gone, I have the similar situation as the poster before this. I liked having the order window rather small, now I can no longer do that as I can't get to the "hidden" information.
Another option would be to get this l33t new technology implemented called "rearranging the column order". I hear it makes table controls all kinds of useful :D (sorry for sarcasm, somewhat). |

Could the Modules Variations be ordered by meta level and not by alphabetical order, for each 'Tech' level that is of course
The alphabetical order is useless -Modules don't follow strict naming conventions. some have apostrophes some don't and it makes the current sort break imo ie: E500 Prototype Energy Vampire (why u no heavy) Heavy 'Ghoul' Energy Siphon Heavy 'Knave' . Heavy Diminishing .. -There's not that many items so really alphabetical order isn't needed. Not really true for the officer section, still it would be more useful to know the meta level
If i have to find a Meta4 Variation i have to click show info on every single variation to find out which one is m4. If you think the alphabetical order is important then just add a meta level column, displaying the meta level right there for each module. I realize i could use compare, but it shouldn't be needed just to find out which version is the meta 4 one imo
I always hoped you would improve the market search. It would make the query slower and maybe take too much server resources ? Maybe as an option
Is it possible that "energ nano memb" would return Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane ? Basically having the intersection of each word instead of the complete string. It makes searching slightly tedious to have to type each word exactly, entirely and in the right order. Would totally be awesome if "Navy Armor Hard" would return all navy armor hardeners. |

Color indication, like border colors, if target is in range. The tactical overview is ok but it only shows the range on one plane. Many times a target is above or below that plane so it's hard to tell if, for example, my heavy launchers will hit the target. Could also be done for being in optimal: green color, within falloff yellow, out of range: red. Might be a problem for grouped weapons.
Different approach: Show range of every weapon in km above each weapon and color code that for the selected target. Same grouped weapons can be combined to just one number. If mixed weapons and/or ammo is active then well, the player has to ungroup, else get a hint: "Mixed" :) Eve community: An angry mob of bright people hunting witches, more torches, more hay forks, growing and growing. |

Yesterday I got killed by another cruiser on my Caracal. I had 3 different missiles equipped so i wondered which did the most damage. I docked so I am not a sitting duck in space but the log was cleared and there is no way for me to see what happened to learn from it. |

I go through all these steps to fill out and customise and build my quickbar content, but on my other PC or Alt account..... its not there.
Can there be an "export / import quickbar" button at the botton next the "New Folder" and it spits out all the content to make it available for Importing on another account / PC? |

maybe i'm missing something but logs are saved in txt files, check your c:\users\xxxname\documents\eve\logs\gamelogs (where xxxname is the name of your user)
logs are named using date/time info and shouldnt be a problem to locate a particular log
also you can upload the logs to sites like this to interpret that info in a nicer way :) http://eveboard.com/combat/ |

If i have to find a Meta4 Variation i have to click show info on every single variation to find out which one is m4. If you think the alphabetical order is important then just add a meta level column, displaying the meta level right there for each module. I realize i could use compare, but it shouldn't be needed just to find out which version is the meta 4 one, compare is awesome but it's also slow.

- as you want to work on the orders, double click them in the wallet to bring up the market details
- in the market window, see your order in blue, and how it compares to what others are offering, and make your changes from there.

Maybe this is not for that topic, but someone mentioned about quickbar settings and I think this would be more than cool:
It would be great to be able to export all EvE settings to the server.
Steam platform have "Steam Cloud". Always when you leave the game it sends all the game settings to the server. This allow me to use this settings no matter where I play. This also give me ability to get my settings back after I reinstall my system or game.
This would also prevent from situations like the last time, when you deleted all our settings. I play eve on 2 machines. Creating overview settings, window positions and so on again when installing the client is annoying (i know i can copy the settings folder, but its additional work).
It could be done manually. Send config and restore it only if you need (and restore only the part you want to: f.e. only overview and market, but no graphics). Such thing you can do in "Netbeans" editor :]
What do you think?

I have a suggestion about the "My Orders"-Window. It's not particularly optimized for smaller displays, and some arrangements aren't logical. Here is a screenshot (with some red highlights of unused space and actual display problems at small window sizes), and a mock-up of the screenshot, how it could look without much effort. The window in the screenshot has the minimal width possible for the window, that was the starting point.
I obviously didn't measure anything exactly (or bother aligning text or something like that), but you can clearly see that there is an extra column visible at almost exactly the same window width. The mock-up is only slightly higher by 30 pixels (if you crop the mock-up at the bottom, which I forgot). Obviously "Selling" and "Buying" are much wider than they are high, hence it saves a lot of space placing them above their respective tables. Please note the rearranged statistics below the actual orders. Now all static values (derived directly from skills) are on the right, all dynamic values (order amount, ISK in escrow/sell/buy) on the left. The "Additional to cover" text is actually readable, being an extra line and all. There were 2 unused lines on one column previously, now there's only 1. The only thing I didn't know where to put it was the "export" button, so it's at the top here, but I'm sure there's a better place for it somehow. |

Yeah, you are right, there is a lot of wasted space there (I've already had a few conversations about it with my co-workers).
I don't think this would solve the issue with all the numbers at the bottom, and even if it magically worked for English, it probably wouldn''t work for all language. To be honest, when I get a defect on display issues there, my reply is that this just needs to be redesigned and it's not worth it to try to fix the overlapping.. but maybe we could move the "BUY"/"SELL" headers even though it does not fix the overlapping... I'll put it on my list of things to consider
Thanks for taking the time to mock it up (the most natural place for the "export" button would be in a "bottom banner" like we have all over EVE)

No that would not be wonderful. But having a tiny button in the left top side of the tab that did the same thing would be wonderful. And there's plenty of room.
Right-click menus are not cool. They are a necessary evil when there are limited space for other UI elements. Since the market detail tab has plenty of spare room, hiding this options as a right-click is not a good idea. Especially because people wont notice it unless they know about it. |

Just thought of something else that would totally be awesome.
Add the Optimal range and Accuracy FallOff of guns on their tooltip. When in space flying (on F1-F9), not on the fittings screen. When you have 4 tracking computers and keep switching scripts and ammo it would really be usefull if it was displayed right there instead of having to dig though the full info panel.
Adding Missile range to the tooltip would totally be awesome aswell. I always thought it was weird that it was impossible to find out what range your missiles have with your current skills, short of shooting something and finding out when you don't do damage.
Thx for adding the previous suggestion to your list. Is my market suggestion not feasible or was it unclear what i meant ? :) |

Since this has turned into a suggestion thread I wanted to point out my idea for reducing another clickfest :)
It's linked so you can read the whole thing, but the short of it is a way to save fleet settings so that you can instantly recreate how a fleet is formed. Everything from the number of squads, squad names, free move, who it's open to, if it's hidden, etc can all be loaded from a save \o/ |

When trying to read a channel where there are many post occuring at the same time, the messages that players post race to the top of the chat window, making the task of actually reading the chat a battle against the scrollwheel.
Is there a way to solve this? If the scrollbar is at the bottom of the channel, it could funtion like it does today, text is being added and it passes by. If however its not at the bottom, can you "lock" the view (to the rows?) until it has travelled to the top and leave the view there? With the current limit of 99 luftballons messages in channel, surely, it would be feasible for the client to keep track?
P.S: I see you skipped my 5 min Paint masterpiece Contract filter aswell |

yes, yes a million times yes and have the option to save who's added to your watch list and maybe even white list certain people to ALWAYS be watch listed, i hate having to configure the fleet every time we start up for the morning just so the booster is able to do his job buffing, it's needless, it's pointless, it's clumsy. |

I got 1 more thing for transactions window.
+ Ability to select item as filter. Now we have to manually type what we need. Would be nice to have something like "set as filter" under submenu when licking item in transaction. This would be the same as we type the item name in "item type" input and click "Load".
+ Ability to clear filter. Would be nice to have button, or icon "Clear" near the "item type" input. This would be the same as clearing the input and licking the "Load" button.
This 2 things would be nice.

As for the option in the menu, I don't really care as I still use the context menu from the My Orders list, might change some day though. It's easier for me to double-click on one order after the other, and just right click if I see mine not on top ;) |

Love all the changes that are on the way.
Still baffled by omission of filter functionality in the wallet.
Too many situations to count where this would be useful, but I miss this feature in the orders tab daily. For eg. would like the in-client ability to look at all t2 items being bought/sold by me, or all projectile turrets, etc etc etc.
Seems like filter options are popping everywhere else, except this most obvious place. |

Can't you make it an optional setting, to be set on within the settings menu, just like the order color setting itself? I like dangerous, its EVE. And that way I can manage my market faster, I was missing it, hence the question ;). |

So, now that we can search everything and anything I was thinking.. Why doesn't CCP have placeholder chars for those things we don't know? And by that, I, of course, mean the (more-or-less standardized) * and ? characters (as in "any string" and "any char", respectively). In fact, just allow some regexp up in that search field. I'm sure that'll be fun and games!
I can see, however, that it might be a problem - especially in, say, the transactions-tab which searches for exact matches (why?) - but then again, if you're searching for something specific, you won't be using the above-mentioned chars (so just disallow it).
Also, one more thing.. It'd be nice to be able to set standings with yourself. Why? Because I like to lol around in nullsec, and whenever I'm looking through local to see if it is clear, I always give myself a heart attack because I see myself as neut. Okay, so standings might be a bit much (although giving oneself a -10 might be fun) - but at least let me "green" myself (I'm always in "my" corp, so...).
Also, I know that, through the API, I can search all my assets (including stuff inside containers) - why can't I do this ingame? I fancy myself an amateur collector, so I have a lot of items. I keep all my collected items in containers (instead of flooding a station with it which, in turn, would probably decrease performance somehow) but then I can't check if I have a given item. I'll have to use a third-party program to do it.
Oh, and could you please increase the amount of items that can go into a container? I already have two containers - far from full m3-wise - that are getting dangerously close to hitting the item limit (and I only have two because the first one hit the limit..)
And one last thing, with the whole localization and everything, will we be given an option between English (US) and English (International)? |

Any character like * or ? would be nice, but regexp? XD Not everyone know regs dude... and if you don't know how something is written, you can put only part of the name. Few posts earlier you have my proposition about adding 2 options for transaction window search. I dont mind that search here must be exact.

Well, no need to have any option for that. Just making OUR char signed in other way would be nice. This is good idea.

Yes yes yes plz. It is pain in the ass when you try to find something that is in ship or in container (don't talk if it is in container that is in the ship :p)

No comments :D Containers are cheap, buy more lol. Also wait 1 month. Soon we will get quite new storage system that will allow us to have tabs and more sort options. So just wait....

Yesterday I got killed by another cruiser on my Caracal. I had 3 different missiles equipped so i wondered which did the most damage. I docked so I am not a sitting duck in space but the log was cleared and there is no way for me to see what happened to learn from it. maybe i'm missing something but logs are saved in txt files, check your c:\users\xxxname\documents\eve\logs\gamelogs (where xxxname is the name of your user) logs are named using date/time info and shouldnt be a problem to locate a particular log also you can upload the logs to sites like this to interpret that info in a nicer way :) http://eveboard.com/combat/ Thank you so much. Yesterday I got killed by another cruiser on my Caracal. I had 3 different missiles equipped so i wondered which did the most damage. I docked so I am not a sitting duck in space but the log was cleared and there is no way for me to see what happened to learn from it. maybe i'm missing something but logs are saved in txt files, check your c:\users\xxxname\documents\eve\logs\gamelogs (where xxxname is the name of your user) logs are named using date/time info and shouldnt be a problem to locate a particular log also you can upload the logs to sites like this to interpret that info in a nicer way :) http://eveboard.com/combat/
In extension of this, it'd be nice to have a choice of how many logs (of any kind!) are saved, and for how long. Also, which directory they are saved in. Oh, and an option to "clear" ones logs besides having to delete the (oftentimes) thousands of files manually.

It looks like I'm a little late to the party, but I couldn't find anywhere more appropriate to post this.
I love the changes to the market! They help me in my trading immensely. I would love to see a couple things tweaked on it though.
- When I right click my own sell order (in the buy section of the market) it gives the option to buy. No one would want to buy their own order, so I would like to see that option removed. (It is the first in the list of the right click menu, and I mis-click it when I want to modify the order.)
- When I am modifying a current order's amount the pop up window will notify me when I am outside of a certain range of the region average, which is helpful some of the time (typically when setting up an order, or when I make a typo.) This makes sense on a new order to warn someone, but could we have it only warn when modifying an existing order when the new price is more than 10% different than the original price? If this is supposed to help stop typos, then the difference from the current order to the new one if I made a typo would be almost 10x or 1/10th of the original amount.

I figure I'll jump on the 'Putting this here since there's nowhere better to put it' bandwagon. Since we now have the ability to move probes in multiples according to which modifier key is pressed (Alt or Shift) may we please get similar functionality for moving Planetary Interaction Extractor Heads around in a timely manner. a full minute to move around 10 extractor heads tends to cause a sharp-edged object to float dangerously close to my wrists at all times. |

The only problem with this is it generates a new log file for every session change. I cleared this folder about a month ago and it had 447,000 log files, by no means easy to sort through. |

If i have to find a Meta4 Variation i have to click show info on every single variation to find out which one is m4. If you think the alphabetical order is important then just add a meta level column, displaying the meta level right there for each module. I realize i could use compare, but it shouldn't be needed just to find out which version is the meta 4 one, compare is awesome but it's also slow.

Uh i have said this b4 as well as other ppl and i still dont know why it hasnt been done yet but why not just put a meta tag on the icon of the item it hase 4 corners and at present olny one corner is being used i thnk it wold be pretty simple to do and wold stop ppl from always pissing about not know what meta lvl an item is and showing info all the time then having to scroll doyn the info window just to read a singel digit is ridiculous also while your at it can u put a option to "sot by meta lvl" in the right click menu of the icon view i know this would make not just me but everone in new eden less likely to want to stab the new UI to death thanks for considering this in advance |

great idea the drag and drop function is totally under used just some ideas of the top of my head
1 dnd from overview this would auto link ship type as well as pilot (great lintel tool)
2 dnd skills form skills tab in character sheet

Hello, I was thinking about some new buttons for Strip Fitting. A button which takes off all of your modules from the high slots, a button only for medium slots and another one for low slots. These 3 buttons are in addition to the already Strip Fitting button from bottom right hand corner. There are a lot of unused areas on the fitting screen. That way I'm not forced to take off all the modules on the ship.
