If Putin was a little less arrogant, Russia would be able to enjoy its full potential. |

I guess his arrogance comes from an unwillingness to conform to western ways.
Although it would be nice to see Russia on her feet again.

And why shouldn't he be arrogant? Before he came to power Russia was on its knees, begging the US for money. Now it's the other way round and he just proved to the EU who is in charge. They tried to infringe on Russia's sphere of power and look what he did, he crushed them all. Now the missile offense shield will no longer be installed, as Russia will simply turn off the gas permanently and start supplying China instead. It's impossible to sanction a country that has nuclear arms, Israel has proven that.
Putins hands are not clean, they are dirty but if we are going to compare his hands are the hands of an angel compared to the religious lunatics in charge in the US (Bush claiming he was in contact with god) and the UK (you think Blair had sleepless nights as he had his army massacre people in Afghanistan and Iraq?). Bush might be out of power but his legacy lives on in Obama, who is related to both Bush and Cheney.
In this world we, unfortunately, have to choose between the lesser of evils and Putin is the least of all evils on the planet today.

The way you describe his deeds only strengthens me in my belief that if he was less arrogant, Russia would be a lot better off..your manner of talking is EXACTLY why, though he has a lot of potential and is without doubt a powerful man, he will not be 'the best of Russia'.
His KGB past is only half due for this, people like you worshipping him for the reasons you mentioned is the other half. |

Your post only proves why he should be arrogant. He is busy restoring his country to somewhat of its former glory and getting it out of the gutter. The only thing Europe is bitter and whining about is that now they no longer have power over Russia. The best for Russia would be for him to hang for the things his army did in Chechnya, just as the best thing would be for the entirety of Downing Street, Parliament and everyone on Capital hill to hang for their crimes against humanity. This also includes every single person in power who supported and supports the continuing violations of human rights around the world.
How far do you want to take this because in the end he is the lesser of all evils.

Hollywood likes to pick villains that look like Russians, Vietnamese, Muslims or whatever nationality the US is fighting at the moment. It helps with making people think they are the enemy in real life since a lot of young people get their view of the world from movies. If you think this is bullcrap, maybe you can give me the name of a hollywood block buster where the hero is played by some unknown foreign guy who is fighting evil Americans.
Now call me crazy but isn't Bond supposed to be British (although they pick some horrible actors for the spot) spy working for the British spy agency?
Oh and Jackie Chan in rumble in the Bronx

What's the number on murdered reporters who are not critical of Putin in Russia now? What's the number of journalists critical of Putin and living? Are the answers relevant to anything?
Here's some reading material for you:
...CPJ claims that it "applies strict journalistic standards when investigating a death. We consider a case ôconfirmedö only if we are reasonably certain that a journalist was killed in direct reprisal for his or her work; in crossfire; or while carrying out a dangerous assignment... If the motives are unclear, but it is possible that a journalist was killed because of his or her work, CPJ classifies the case as ôunconfirmedö and continues to investigate to determine the motive for the murder."
I believe that an audit of CPJ's findings is in order. We will examine all cases reported in CPJ's database of confirmed deaths during Putin's presidency (2000-present day) to see if they belong. Each case will be classified into true (CPJ's claims are not disputed), falsified (the case does not involve professional activities or is not even a murder), and partially falsified (journalist murdered or died on duty, but the perpetrator or other relevant information is false)... |

Russia actually a country getting on her feet without the need for oppression. putin such good leader hasn't used or needed to kill reporters allowing free press (would explain IT development in Russia)
News at 12, Western countries are tyrants
Killing, bullying, abusing powers, greed and torture. Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo bay. things western culture or children shouldn't forget. the day they became the ****s and evil of the world
Golden question is who is the criminal... bad guy and perpetrator! |
