There are many ways that one can lead a corporation. During my time as a pilot I have encountered amongst others dictatorships, oligarchies and yes, even democracies and collectives.
Let us for a moment consider the first of these. Sometimes a corp will have one leader who decides everything. Whilst this undoubtedly leads to decisive action, it can also lead to paralysis if the CEO is incapacitated. There is also the danger of the corporation becoming little more than a cult of personality centred around the leader. This of course would mean the the corporation would fail completely were the leader to ever tire of leading them.
Surely, a better way would be adopt a system not unlike that practised by the Empire itself. Whilst the Empire is led by an individual, they are supported by a Privy Council and other bodies with varying degress of autonomy and who can also advise and counsel the Emperor. And when the Emperor can no longer continue, there are one or more successors capable of taking over.
As well as providing continuity, this also provides a way for the Empire to renew itself periodically.
Of course, it is not possible to exactly replicate this system in a corporation, but we in PIE have adopted something similar. I believe a large part of our success over the years has been down to the leadership model that we have used. We have traditionally utilised a system where the CEO is advised and supported by his directors. Far from being a cult of personality, PIE has always been a corp where the leaders and directors have considered the well-being of the corporation to be more important than their own egos. When I look at the past leaders of PIE, I see selfless sacrifice. People like Takumi Vetinari, Hardin and Golan Trevize have all in the past served both PIE and the Empire without consideration for themselves.
Whilst these greats of the past all had slightly different views and a variety of leadership styles, one other thing binds them together: they all knew when it was time for renewal and passed the reins of power to another.
And so we come to today. Following the capture of Lantorn by Amarrian forces, I believe that it is time for a different perspective at the helm of PIE. Someone who will lead our forces deeper into Republic territory to avenge the cowardly attacks by the Shakorites that shocked us all last year.
After due consideration, I have decided that the man to lead PIE into the future is Admiral Gaven Lok'ri. Earlier tonight, I signed the papers and filed them with CONCORD, and he is now the officially recognised CEO of PIE Inc. I will be resuming my role within PIE as a director.
To finish, I would like to both wish Admiral Lok'ri God's blessings during his tenure as CEO and thank all of those pilots who have made my tenure as CEO such a joy. You are all exemplars of what makes Amarr great, and are a credit to not only PIE but to the Empire as well.
Amarr Victor.

Admiral Blake you have been one of the best loyalist CEOs I have had the pleasure of working with. Flexible, understanding of the bigger picture and often the voice of reason in any problems we have faced together.
On behalf of Epitoth Fleetyards I have to say well done on keeping PIE on its course, I only hope Admiral Gaven Lok'ri can follow once more in your style.

Few enemies I truely respect in some ways, Gaven is among that number.
Ohh you are still a wicked man, in an evil empire, worshiping a devil god imposter with a witch on the throne. But I cannot deny such a person a healthy amount of respect where earned.

I guess overseeing the murder of innocents must get tiring after a while. Whilst I hate your ethics, I can at least admire your tenacity and I hope that this is not an indication that you will be dropping out of capsuleer circles. I'd really like to see you again. Well, your corpse at least.
I wish your successor all the success he deserves. |

I'm sure you will enjoy your retirement. There will be less weight on your shoulders and you already carry far too much.
But I don't want to bloat this goodbye. I'm sure you'll get your just desserts.
To the new CEO, Admiral Lok'ri: I'll see you out there, but don't get your hopes up about any violating. -Eva-

Has always been an honour to work with you, Admiral Blake. To me you rank amongst the finest CEOs PIE has had so far - always willing to listen to anyone but still staying your course and making the good decisions.
