And against bigger ships orbiting at 15-20 using a disrupter and lights is soo much better than being webbed and having a heavy missile jammed up your ass.
Its nearly impossible for a kestrel to aviod a cruise missile fired from a Raven/Scorp... so theres no point in trying to fight a raven in a kestrel, unless the guy is an idiot and fits 6x heavy launchers
If I could be bothered to train up a little I could get my kestrel going over 1500 m/s no problem, but I want to beable to fly a crow asap. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

cruise missiles go out of a raven and a scorp at about 2000m/s AFAIK if you have BS lvl V ................. |

If you orbit at 20km, most light missiles won't hit you. Try that out. Tech 2 missiles are the exception.

I normally don't post ship setups because people can use them against me...but since I never fly kessy's I'll post this one:
4 rocket launchers 2 sensor damps, 1 web 1 small armor rep, 1 cap power relay
This won't keep a frig from warping away, but it'll force any friggy that wants to attack you to get within web range and you can pound on it while running your armor rep. This works really well in frig tourneys where if you run you loose.

If someone would keep the Ship Setups sticky semi-up to date this wouldn't happen. I think someone should start a new one making sure that all posted setups are at LEAST up to date with the current patch. --- Allah be praised |

Although...
I think you can still fit a 10mn ab with the following setup:
high - 4 x rl med - 10mn ab, webber, warp scarm low - MAPC, PDU
How long could you keep going with all this running though? -----------------------------

Despite that this thread is uber old Rockets have a higher d.o.t (damage over time) than light missiles...also you can;t fit 2 speed boosts anymore.

Anyone got a post-exodus setup?
ex P-TMC
If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU.

Noone flying kestrels post exodus?!?
How about this one:
high: 4x rocket (named prefered) with thorns med: 1mn mwd, scrambler or webber low: 400mm tungsten plate, aux power
I lack 1 power to fit last med slot so it's a choice between a webber or a scrambler. Named aux are simply to rare and expensive to be on a kestrel.
How about it ppl.
(this is a sticky ship setup discussion, not thread necromancy)

4 x (arbalest) standard launcher 1 x AB II 1 x small SB II 1 x cap recharger 2 x BCU
You can get away with 'lower' nameds, on the launchers, but your CPU is really rather tight.
You can shed a BCU and the cap recharger in favour of a warp scrambler and a nanofiber should you so wish.

Rocket lauchers use less powercore and CPU, so they adapt for the kestrel fitted with PVP equipment like scramblers and webifiers. Also rocket launchers are only about 5K, not to much for someone like me to lose....
My Kestrel Setup:
4 X Rocket Launcher's (2 with Gremlins, 2 with phalanx) 1MN Afterburner I Warp Scrambler I Stasis Webifier I 2 X Capacitor Relay I's
If you have good engineering and electronic skills, trade the 1MN afterburner I for the tech II (if its not too much for you to lose) or maybe a 1MN MWD, exchange the capacitor relays for Ballistic Control modules.
I have not really been in PVP much yet, but from ganging and using that setup as a support role, its definatly the best setup, for example in my gang there was me in a kestrel with that setup and two friends in incursus frigates (these were setup to do as much damage orbiting at 500M as possible, so blasters were used). We were able to take on a ferox with ease, took its shield in about 20 seconds, the armour about 30 and the structure was easy, about 15...Damage taken was minimal, even with the ferox yielding heavies due to the missile nerf.
(Hidden tip for people using ships with heavies...always put on an assualt launcher, they are for cruisers and battlecruisers to take out frigates!!!)
