Hello guys.Me and my buddy are trying to get some pvp going along with the mission running but we can't decide what pair of ship to use.I'm flying all amarr boats from frigate to bs ,including reckons, hacs and commands. He flies gallente inties, hacs and BS's,probably reckons in the near future.
What i am looking for is a good duo ship combo for starting to learn to pvp in lowsec etc(cheap version)and a maybe even the best combo (expenive version) so we can set our goals for the future.
Thank you in advance for your help guys.

If you're just learning PVP don't go with anything expensive because you'll lose a lot of ships. Also, I'd join faction war or get in with a PVP corp they'll teach you better pvp habits than you'll learn on your own.
For duos: Most recon mixes are great, but gallente/amarr isn't very useful. Harbinger/Myrm or any two damage dealing ships of the same class is fine. BS/logistics BS/inty Curse + Damage dealer or tackle

pilgrim + razu is tight actually
both ab fit, razu uses scan res scripts and fits blasters, both ships can take a beating and willwin out against many ships due to sphere of no mwd kiting the abing pilgrims nuets "SPEED + GANK = SPANK... Spank that ***** up" |

Buzzard and Abbadon? Probe those mission runners.
Forget about killing anything worthwhile at gates in lowsec with Recons, you'll die horribly to anything that can defend itself. Most pvp happens at gates in lowsec, id follow the advice of the gentleman above. |

curse and kronos. neut the little noob to kingdom come and then have the kronos come in at zero and gank him till there's nothing left. a good idea would be to have a pair of RR's on the kronos to help out the curse, since it has such pathetic shield/armor/hull. you can also switch the curse for a pilgrim so you can cloak and sneak up on him/her. |

You should start with low expectations and budget and work yourself up slowly...
I would recommend an Arbitrator for the amarr chap, with 2x TDs and a bunch of drones, along with a 1600mm RT buffer tank - and possibly a MAR (don't bother with cruiser sized guns/launchers a lot) and either a Thorax or a Vexor for the Gallente wingman.
With decent skills these boats are very-very cheap, and flown correctly can take on a lot of stuff. You can learn small-number PvP / Pirating etc quite effectively with those - an expensive recon won't provide more fun, trust me.
Ceptors are a good idea also: Dual Light Pulse Crusader / disruptor + Blaster-ranis + scram / web would make a nice Duo... Or maybe a Crusader + an Iskur AF?
In the above scenarios we are looking into logically skill intensive setups, with decent versatility and an average cost of 20-25M per ship without rigs - in the region of 40M should you wish to rig your ranis or sader.
