Sounds to me like they are balancing them based on the GM Polaris frigates. Heard that two BS vaporized a dual repped Kronos.
If they are going to be that hard, T3 cruisers will be as or more expensive than dreads and getting parts for them something that only large corporations can even hope to do.
We get 2500 added systems which no-one will have any interest in beyond the first few weeks and CCP will forced back to the drawing board .. c'est la vie
The NPCs you faced on Singularity yesterday were not the easiest ones a pilot will encounter in wormhole space, by far. As such do not expect them all to have this amount of raw damage. Also, please remember this remains work in progress as we will keep tweaking them until the release. |

isn't 5 NPCS ealing more damage than 5 player ships could do bad? I think the idea should be making the NPCs AS strong as players. Not stronger. |

Any insight on NPC behavior? Has the AI really been upgraded or are they just dishing out monster damage and have monster tanks?

The Dev that spawned the sleepers i seen said, this is a large encounter spawn, which i took as, this is a 10/10 plex with extra chilli's.
I'd love to see the mass key for that encounter, other than that not much to add about the npc's till we see more.
The sleepers had no shields just armour and hull, crazy cruise missile dmg, once the data is mined proper dmg types will make it abit easier to survive a chilli spawn

More rumours ftl, I only heard this in third person:
Apparently the rat encounter was also balanced for a 10 man sub-BS gang, so it wasn't really designed for a 1 man Marauder dude to breeze thru solo, dual rep or not. -----

TBH if a Marader class duel repped BS being repped by carriers still got whiped, this is a little overkill.

It depends on plenty of factors, like the number and types of NPCs that were focusing fire, his different resistances and speed for example; but yes, we are looking into that, there will be more Sleeper playtesting on Singularity until everything is tweaked properly |

Just wanted to comment...
I was with everyone when the first group of NPC's were spawned. The dev said they were a 'medium' difficulty spawn. A few battleships, some cruisers, couple frigates. Saw one guy in a battleship getting tackled by some frigates, so I moved in to take those out with my Zealot. At which point 4-5 sleepers [including a couple battleships] locked onto me. They were barely even denting my shields; I'm assuming that either Sleepers have extremely short-range weapons, or they don't focus fire on targets.
Blew up another cruiser and started helping out on a sleeper battleship. [IIRC, none of the sleeper ships had any shields.] After the BS we were all shooting blew up, I decided to focus on a BS by myself. Picked one a bit further out and moved in. I got within about 20-30 km's when it hit me with, I'm assuming, a nos/neut. [that's what the graphic looked like.] At the same time I immediately dropped straight to hull. Turned on my repper and tried to warp out at this point, but I didn't make it - damage after that first blast seemed to be much reduced, it took about 5 hits to kill me while in hull.

Maybe it was this badass. Perhaps a very small RoF / tracking, but when you burnt towards him, it got a full hit.

Do we have any info yet on the bonuses that the different modules give the cruisers? Well, the sub-sytems are more broad than this.
Instead they alter around slots and such, well thats what the current one does. We may see one that gives damage/range bonus's though (crosses fingers) EVE history

Ok some stuff to add.
because i've only bothered shooting them once, i cant be sure, but my chimera hit 30% armor (was overloading my shield tank to try and hold it there.) between 3 thanatos pilots and an archon, they stabalized my tank, my shield hit 40% again and the AI began to switch targets, and then started shooting an abaddon, which i proceeded to rep, they then didnt switch primary again till the end of the fight. interesting yeah? also, they only started shooting my carrier after the kronos went down, they popped multiple HAC's and BS's that i wasnt repping before shooting me.
SLEEPERS: The ones i was shooting were taking a good 4-5mins to kill with 5 carriers shooting them. they had no shield (not even a bar for it) only armor and structure. which is interesting. similar to NPC capitals in lvl 5 missions.

yes actually, a moros wrecked one for 9.5k damage lol, that one went down fast, just lucky the rat was stuck on a pile of ships and unable to move. other than that one, he didnt hit anything. |
