PETA Showcases Their Usual Restraint At The Westminster Dog Show By Dressing Up Like The ***
I'm not really sure that the Westminster Dog Show technically counts as a sport, but you know what, in the middle of February it does.
As some of you may know, PETA has always had a bit of a problem with the Westminster Dog Show because, uh, I'm not really sure why, in all honesty. Last year their cause was that kennels sometimes kill dogs, while this year, in typical understated brilliance, PETA had two of its supporters dressed up as Ku Klux Klan members outside Madison Square Garden yesterday. Because that will definitely win people over to your cause.
So why's PETA doing this? Neo-**** dogs, of course.
Their goal, according to a post on the PETA website, was to draw a parallel between the *** and the American Kennel Club. "Obviously it's an uncomfortable comparison," PETA spokesman Michael McGraw told the Associated Press.
But the AKC is trying to create a "master race" when it comes to pure-bred dogs, he added. "It's a very apt comparison."
The group passed out brochures implying the Klan and AKC have the goal of "pure bloodlines" in common. Well, there's a few key differences. Like I don't remember the AKC burning crosses on the front lawns of houses that have non pure-bred dogs - or mudering people - but yeah, other than that, they're completely identical.
Naturally, the AKC is firing back to protect its image.
"I can't speak for everyone, but the vast majority of the people exhibiting and handling and showing at Westminster are more interested in the health of dogs than anything else," Westminster spokesman David Frei told the AP.
You know what, I think I'll side with Westminster on this one. Meanwhile, maybe PETA should send their ***-dressed supporters to Harlem to protest dog fighting. I see no way that could end badly.

Dogs are descendants of wolves created by selective breeding. Every living dog is a dark reminder of that time.
Maybe we should draw that comparison with cereal crops too. Every breakfast, subliminal indoctrination of the young.

Oh, wait, the height of hypocrisy is that PETA is a supporter of animal euthanasia, and a LOT of the animals they "save" from "improper care" end up with a needle in them, then in the dumpsters. Apparently, they don't care if animals LIVE, only that... umm, I don't know... what exactly do they are about anyway ?

Save cancer! Support their fight against the tyrannical oppression of body coherency. Every living cell has the right for individual development. Cancer treatment is killing off the poor individualized cells merely because they are different! Support PETA in its fight against immoral murder of innocent cancer cells!

There was a picture in the newspaper showing a man carrying his dog by the neck (no not the scruff, the actual neck) and the tail at the dog show.
That seems pretty ****ing cruel.

Many 'animals' are far more intelligent than humans.
Homo Sapiens are member of the Primate family.
Britannica:
genus of the family Hominidae (order Primates) characterized by a relatively large cranial capacity, limb structure adapted to a habitual erect posture and a bipedal gait, well-developed and fully opposable thumb, hand capable of power and precision grips, and the ability to make standardized precision tools, using one tool to make another. Together with modern man, Homo sapiens, the genus includes the extinct species H. habilis, H. erectus, and H. heidelbergensis as well as the extinct Neanderthals (H. neanderthalensis) and the early form of H. sapiens called Cro-Magnon.

At the risk of sounding the tiniest bit unoriginal (I know that you of all people must be sick to death of this particular question) - got any proof? At all?
"Many" is an imprecise quantity, but it definitely implies plurality. Can you name 2 species which are "far more intelligent" than humans? (truthy, feelgood semi-hippy stuff like "All of them because animals DONT HAVE LAWS OR WARS, maaaaaaaan not accepted)

No, no it's really not. A better comparison would be to the ideals put forward in films touching on genetic engineering (which, by the way, is a catch-all phrase and not a branch of medical science).
The comparison made here is ridiculous; The key with the *** was that they were white racial supremacists, meaning that they were interested in preserving one race at the expense of all others. Dog breeding does not preclude the breeding of mongrels, and it focuses on breeding many dozens of different species, prizing them all.
Then again why am I bothering: We all know that PETA live in cloud-cukoo-land. One client: Three Screens! |

You know what though, considering the amount of attention everyone in this thread is paying them, they're getting their message out. No advertising is bad advertising...and there've been threads for all their latest weirdness including the ' Sea Kitten scandal' and the ' Go Veg campaign'. Others like the OP posted them here in OOPE, we all scoff and jeer and it's all raising awareness They're doing something right to get so many people who don't care about such things talking about them -------------
