The Jove conflict, Minmatar Rebellion, a heretic in one of our highest offices and the lack of clear success of the latest crusade. Events that many would attribute as tests to our faith, of things we will need to strive with and we must overcome.
These are not tests of faith. These are signs! Signs that we have failed tests that God has allowed.
Fleet lost to the Jove, was no test of faith. We failed before the conflict. We failed in Gods command to stay vigilant and to continue to improve ourselves. We failed and God allowed us to see the cost of our failure.
a Slave Rebellion, was no test of faith. We failed before the rebellion. We were not vigilant for the souls under our guidance and we allowed the unjust to rule among us. We failed and God allowed us to see the cost of our failure.
a Heretic in Empires court, was no test of faith. We failed before he was found. We were not vigilant and question why our chancellor failed to follow the will of God. We did not put to question the delays in getting our Emperor elected. We failed and God showed us the cost of our Failure.
How vigilant are you? How soon before God allows you to see the cost of failure in a test of Faith?

That is, I might say, a rather roundabout manner to express a rather - well, I hesitate to say, but - somewhat "Un-Amarrian" sentiment of pragmatism and self improvement.
In fact, were I to strike a few choice words (namely, the capitalized ones) I could almost say it promotes an areligious mindset, actually. To deal with issues directly and appropriately, even if it means subverting the system somewhat - shaking things up rather then relying on, well, faith, and the existing strength of the system.
A step closer to the State then many others in the Empire would be prepared to take, perhaps.
Erm, but still. That's perhaps a little broad and unfocused a message, don't you think?

Some certainly questioned, but hardly enough of Amarrians that we could justly call these more than individuals or at best small groups. Tolerance of sin among us should always be counted as our greatest enemy I believe. Though I do not seek to challenge calls against stagnation either cardinal.

Hm. I believe your interpretation of Lord Crows speech may suffer from a different social upbringing. What pray tell is "un-Amarrian pragmatism and self-improvement"? I doubt you will find many a member of clergy to support the notion that the faithfull should not strive to improve themselves in eyes of God, for one.
I believe the speech also directs us to place stronger faith in God, even when this faith may direct us to question some parts of our wordly constructs. It places faith that the inherent strength of the system benefits from questioning when we have doubt that a portion of the system remains faithfull in adherence to Gods will. If in nothing else then in leading us to better understand how that part of our system indeed follows the mandates of God.
As for the real focus of the speech, that might indeed be clearer for those with closer understanding of the Amarrians in general ms. Ashera.

I can accept the IGS is a place where all have a right to speak. Regardless of how I feel of their opinions that is what the IGS was designed for.
Considering that the only people to give straight answers here are the "True Amarr", I find the responses of other people a little embarassing.
But frankly this side-topic is a distraction, so that all I have to say of that. N'maro Makari Director of Public Relations The Synenose Accord Celestial Imperative |

I believe what Nakal may have been getting at was that the OP appeared to be essentially assigning some non-zero level of fault and/or blame to various failings of the Empire through the years to the Empire and its citizens themselves rather than outside parties entirely.
This, in itself, appears "un-Amarrian" in the sense that it seems a fairly rare sight in public; many Amarrians one meets are going to swear up and down that the Empire and its leaders over the years are faultless, can do no wrong, and never make poor decisions. Because of this, there's a bit of a perception that it seems "un-Amarrian" for an Amarrian to suggest in public that "yeah, we screwed up".
The key part being "in public," of course - I'm well aware that one's personal views in the Empire are generally saved for private venues as opposed to public ones, but then, that's what Nakal's point appears to be? |

Perhaps, Brother, but there is a lovely particle that states I don't have to pretend anymore that your friend's religious ramblings are noteworthy.
And regarding manors, I'd show a bit more to the "Lord of Murder" if he didn't burst upon the stage acting like some common street-preacher muttering about this-or-that harbinger of doom.
You ever try having someone like that over for a social gathering? Offering a glass of wine turns into a ten-minute rant on how gloom and doom things are for the True Amarr. Manors indeed.
Dreadful.

The admiral has never been one for nuance or breaking paradigms, but he does have a point.
My own wistful daydream with regard to ameliorating our dreadful situation of course is to encourage the Brutor and Vherokior masses to jettison the Sebiestor... though I haven't quite put my little toe on precisely which tummy bump will accomplish that. It must involve a cult, selling Piotr to pay Paol, and Gallente hypocrisy, however.

I will note you did not have an answer. Perhaps you can tell me from where I and the C0URT are in sidelines from? Hopefully this will be more than mere recruitment effort into the 24th Crusade, as Amarrian part of the militias conflict is commonly known.
What we will not be doing is to discuss strategic goals publicly.
I am certain that person with your intrest in safeguarding the Empire will have noted our initiated efforts in securing freedom of some of our non-capsuleer brethren. Sadly a speedy and less forceful solution was declined in negotiations.

If the militias conflict is indeed the only situation you see to be effected and this the only way you would seek our official presence in that particular matter. Then I dare say we will have little intrest in doing so.
Should you find something you find to be an argument or suggestion in favour of joining the Crusade, that shall ofcourse merit further evaluation.

On the contrary, there are many ways to serve the Empire and not all of them involve joining the Crusade.
But I've yet to see any evidence that you're doing any of them.

Here. I will do three things right now.
1. I will assume you are merely challenging actions done as a CONCORD sanctioned capsuleer.
2. I will take a day from public discussion of this matter, at the end of this message.
3. I will advice mine against any action on this matter within that time.
Perhaps you shall find something wise to do in that time admiral. In addition I note Jayal and Semou might benefit from your service to the Empire.
