Is their a way to get the current system I am in via the API? Id imagine it would be avail using the FULL API key, but I cant seem to find that bit of information anywhere *except* via the CORP level API functions. Is their no way to query location with my own API info?
Specifically I want to use said functionality to keep track of the location of all alts. Its rather frustrating to have to login 2-3 different accounts before finding the alt near the location Im looking for =/ If I could query that information I could see a list of characters and locations at a glance... (and no, forcing us to use the corp level API stuff is not a good solution). I hope someone can point out what Ive missed...

Its that or using the IGB. There is no personal API that gives your current location.

Characters current location used to be in the gamelog files after going through gates and such.....or docking. Not sure if that info is still in there after the Bacon incident as I haven't looked for awhile.

Edited by: LoneRider on 17/02/2009 22:07:00 The best (and as far as i know only) way to track members real-time is to use the Ingame browser. I programmed a PHP application that has a module called "fleet-watch" - Every member in the fleet logs in using the ingame browser, enters his ship type and minimizes the ingame browser window. Every 30 Seconds it updates the member's position in a MySQL database. Now the fleet commander can log in (either ingame or out of game with a normal browser) and gets a list with every fleet member, which ship they use and where they are - system, constellation, region and "nearest". It also draws a Map centered on the whole fleet or centered on a single person.
It works really good, so try the ingame browser. The only bad thing is that everyone who has to be tracked needs to log in with the ingame browser.

You can also write a small little application that sits on your computer and parses your gamelogs - it notifies whenever some changes system; I don't know if it tracks cyno movement though, don't have any of those logs handy. _______________ <Q> QUANT Hegemony Item Database
