Being a member of a 0.0 alliance, i have seen in alliance chat recently about the cost of fleet fit pvp and how the cost of them is sky rocketing.
I was wondering if ccp doing the incursion/drone region nerfs are a)needed and b)going to ruin pvp(or tame it down).
Personally i have played since 2003, i realise how isk used to be harder to get back then, but now as eve has evolved i feel that the prices 1-2 months ago was more inline with what eve is about(ships blowing up and people lossing isk). Eve is advertised as big cap/bs fleets, but things like moros hull's currently floating around 2.7bil make me wonder just how much harder pvp will be to finance in the upcomming weeks/months when mineral prices really skyrocket.
Seems that the prices of fleet fitted bs's will soon go higher than the price of plex's(if trend continues). |

It all comes back.
Serious, in the 7 years I have been playing this game nothing has changed.
- Gank beats tank - Build a bigger blob
Super Caps were meant to negate blob but because blob works so well, super caps became the blob. They nerfed it but they never nerfed the blob. EVE is Zerg in overdrive and it always has been. |

One thing that has changed is that the blobs have become bigger. And that has changed because travel has become easier.
As for the caps, they are just too cheap, making them viable for personal usage instead of corporation-only. Operation WRITE DOWN ALL THE THINGS!!!-á Check out the list at http://bit.ly/wdatt Collecting and compiling all fixes and ideas for EVE. Looking for more editors! |

seeing how tengu-fleets became standard for some aliances i think some "downgrade" would be only good for pvp....
At the moment lowest level of ship for 0.0 roams is BC. (I don't speak about t1 trash-gangs and tacklers) Maybe we will see return of a T1 cruiser? |

SRP, have your very own carebears to keep you happy in ships , and they will be happy too selling ABC on the side.
For alliances that only believe in having a standing army without logistics. Oh yeh they will be hating life and in about 6 months they will either adapt or be removed.

Since you're an old timer, you'll remember the old days when you thought with your wallet before you undocked, and war was all about breaking the other guys wallet via attrition and small gang pressure on their farming activities, rather than being about crushing them in that one massive fleet battle.
It looks like those days are comming back, and I for one welcome it. |

Yes.... it's true...PVP is now a micro transaction. You will have to have the required amount of Aurum in the new combat bank section of your NeX tab before you can lock a live target.
This is expected to curb suicide ganking considerably.

Is it needed?
Yes. You should not be able to mine minerals by shooting at drones. Thats just dumb on so many levels and undercuts a profession that takes serious skill level commitments. I havent run incursions, so I cant say much about it. But others seem to feel that its currently EVE on easy mode.
Will it ruin PvP?
No. People will still blow **** up. Its what this game is about. Prices are about where they should be IF minerals are coming from the source they should be coming from (Real players, not botters and/or drone ratters.) |

I totally agree with these guys. I still remember when losing a ship mattered and the shakes you get when you fly a ship you can't afford to lose.
I hope everything stays expensive. Seeing how cheap everything has been ship kills doesn't matter now. |

Simply because the changes are driving T1 and T2 prices, way more than T3.

No need to launch the troll brigade. Your 800 to 1800 Drake blob will remain in first place as the I-Win button in EVE. Or Tornado fleet or rifter fleet or whatever it is you can bring the most of. Status Quo is intact. |

There's nothing you can do about blobbing in non arena PvP, ever. If one side is allowed to bring more ships, they will. We now return you to your regularly scheduled **** poast. |

Well the good news is that your opponents will also be paying the same prices, so you're not at any disadvantage.
PS when I started playing, a Cerberus cost more than a 90 day Game Time Card. The equivalent of 1.5 bill now.
For a Cerb. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

prices always go down after patches, I have been here from Red Moon Rising and only when the teir 2 BC and teir 3 BS were introduced did prices increase after patch. Other than that market forces anticipate much higher prices pre patch and they fall apart post patch. Privateer Alliance, rebuilding a not so safe High Sec.-á

I like it as it will promote the need for a builder and miner wing of any large scale alliance. They will become integral to the success of whether an alliance falls or not.
and people will finally stop looking down on them
Ive seen alliances of 600 people in NPC nullsec who do not have a single builder in their ranks.
Building and mining is the lifeblood of EVE and it needs to be encouraged in Nullsec I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

Hulkageddon is a terrible thing. its a time when mineral prices sky rocket, Barges/Exhumers get popped driving prices up even more. You whine when prices get too high for your PVP ships.
So the incursion Nerf you 0.0 guys will hate case they will be getting tougher and many of you guys are unable to adapt to kill them off to make a profit out of it so your Sanctum/Haven running time is interupted which are also large isk making.
As for the Drones losing the alloys for bounties is something that scared alot of folks forcing prices back up.
All I see is that your 0.0 alliances have to pay more or force your renters to pay more. either way you are screwed.
What you alliance folks need to learn is there us a unique symbiotic relationship between miners>Builders>Combat folks. nice circle how things go.
In what i have learn that a good 0.0 alliance will have the following 1> Combat pilots. these guys will run Sanctum/havens and so forth plus the awsome blood letting PVP action. 2> Logistics pilots are the ones that will handle moving things from point A to point B and may call on Combat folks for Defence as needed. 3> Industrial Core. These guys mine and build and yes they also need to make iskies therefore they sell to alliance first. 4> Planetary Interaction. great passive income some corps have you give them your PI for POS fuel.
You figured out thats a good start |
