As i said things dont just vanish instantly. the stock pile supply that is currenty slowly getting bled dry, hence the increase in price because the reserves are diminishing....... |

You guys are hilarious, with all the greed and speculation you have ensured you are your own worst enemies. The real fun will be when the crash comes and people start panicking dumping their reserves. Some will profit but quite a few will be left in the red. The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.
One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear. |

Unsure whether to offload now, or continue to hoard. Erring on hoarding. If all else fails and the market goes back down, at least I still have all those minerals. Trit will still be trit after the patch.
However, I know that mineral prices WILL be up for a good while after, so I'm investing in infrastructure. Can always sell that on later. And the mineral prices are tempting me to break out the hulk more often. |

Nirnias Stirrum wrote:the stock pile supply that is currenty slowly getting bled dry, hence the increase in price because the reserves are diminishing....... Nobody knows how large a stockpile there is tho.
So current speculation is fueled by the notion that after tomorrow, a region which did at some point provide 40% of minerals, will have its mechanics changed drastically.
If it was just about a stockpile diminishing, because everyone has left ( which they haven't ), the price spike wouldn't have matched so perfectly with the announcement of the Drone Region changes.
Which of course isn't to say that the recent bot bannings haven't left their mark on the current Drone Region population.
But the biggest part of the mineral speculation right now, is driven by the "40%" number, and the effects people think the mechanic changes will have on the market.
Also, don't forget that the Drone Region population has always been distributed a bit differently than in other 0.0 regions.
In 0.0 regions with bounties, a single system can't really sustain more than 1 ratter. Where as mining activities are done in bigger groups ( Fleet bonus, hauler, miners ) and a single system can sustain quite a few miners at the same time. |

But it will end up where the demand is: Jita. Sure, some will probably remain in the local area (only now, that will be all over nullsec rather than just in a single region), but demand, availability, and ISK is still mainly centralised around the normal trading hubs. Again, I understand, but why would you fill a jump freighter with tritanium or pyerite to sell it at Jita? Are minerals not needed in 0.0? Do they all end up at Jita only to go back into 0.0 again?

drone regions are a special case - they compress their minerals into supercaps to move/sell them easier
(actually I remember some russians losing jumprfreighters full of drone alloys last year so I guess some of it makes it directly to Jita - but my guess is that the primary motive there is evasion of refinery taxes, not lack of local demand)
in general, 0.0 is always suffering from a shortage in low-end minerals which have to be imported and exports some of its high-ends - people come there to mine ABCs, not to mine Veldspar. |

What you don't use in 0.0 production (Nox, Zyrd, Mega, Morphite) you sell to the market, and buy the Trit, Pye, Mex, Iso, to ship back to 0.0(usually compressed into 425mm rails). Maybe.
But it doesn't feel like it.
For example, I bought 3B units of trit at 3.3 isk a piece months ago and just sold them at 5.6 isk a piece. But I guess all the smart people are buying it now at 5.8 and waiting for it to go even higher. I always learned buy low, sell high. Not buy high, sell higher.
My bad. I'll just sit here on the nearly 7 billion I made off that one of the many trades I made and feel sorry for myself.

47B worth of zyd, nocx and morphite, bought in month+ ago when zyd was 750, nocx 570 and morphite 4k a unit. Do the math ;) Large volumes of highly researched Ammo, drones, charges and ship bpo's. Biggest BPO store in EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524 |

Epeen waving with 7b.... lol
Having said that, I can't see buying now being a good time. Minerals shouldn't go to much higher. Stocks are building, Prices are up and people are mining. Remember were better at mining now then pre drone regions. |

Yeh i invested 5bisk into Nocxium @ 530isk a piece, i could sell now as its like at what 990isk or something? Ill wait until it hits around 1500 during the spike, and if i miss that ill sell when it stabalises around 1100 or so.
Either way this is a no brainer, there is no way in hell Nocxium will go back down to or below 530, so doesnt matter if i wait an hour, a day, a week a month or a year ill make a sweet profit. I just want to make the 5bisk profit thats why im holding out. |
