801. Best Amarr Command Ship for Incursions? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The trouble with the absolution is range. The Absolution lacks an optimal bonus, which means that it's basically impossible to use multifrequency or conflagration. That hurts your DPS quite a bit, and is (part) of why I prefer the Legion for armor...

802. Faction Battlecruisers? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Prior to the rocket buff, I would agree with you -- but the Kestrel and the Merlin are both very competent missile boats at the frigate level, and the assault missile caracal is well known for its anti-frigate prowess. I wouldn't mind seeing the ...

803. Stacking penalty on damage mods? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
That doesn't tell the whole story, unfortunately. Take a look at Targeting System Subcontroller rigs. They are indeed stacking penalized, but they're not penalized against sensor booster or signal amplifier modules...nor are the T1 and T2 versio...

804. Faction Battlecruisers? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Not that I don't agree with you, but I'm not exactly comfortable with there being no competent T1 laserboats smaller than battleships. The punisher, maller, and/or prophecy would need some pretty massive overhauls before I'd be willing to see the...

Edited by: Aamrr on 06/08/2011 16:47:36 Since we're on the subject, I'll just leave this here... Edit: You'll sometimes also see 4x faction damage modules for CPU savings, as on this Machariel: [Machariel, ShieldMWD] 7x 800mm Repeating Ar...

808. Stacking penalty on damage mods? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Edited by: Aamrr on 06/08/2011 16:19:35 Sort of. Because it's a better quality module, the faction magstab will be at the top of the stacking penalty chain and will be at full effectiveness. ...it just shifts everything else down one step, ma...

809. Assuming perfect skills, what's the best... - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Something like this, maybe? Sanshas keep a little bit more range, so I'd use a Tachyon paladin there. [Vargur, Cheap] 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Art...

If I'm specifically looking for frigate defense (Vagabond comes to mind) I'll use warriors. Otherwise, ecm drones all the way.

813. Incursion ships - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Nice fit, but the tracking and range leave a bit to be desired. I prefer to use a T2 metastasis and locus coordinator instead of the aerator. Still not sure whether the TE in the lows comes out better than a 4th heat sink.

819. Combat Capital Ship? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Here's what's astonishing to me: When dreadnoughts were introduced, the idea of anything capable of dealing 5000 DPS was such a threat to balance that they had to restrict it with total immobility, a 1000m signature resolution, a 50% tracking pena...

Well, certainly. The point is that you can get almost all of that 5% by using the T2 module. The difference between making that 4th module T2 and faction isn't 5%, but in fact closer to 0.7%
