Well there is the issue where you can't drop probes that overlap so you have to DESTROY the less accurate probe in order to drop the finer one in it's area. Seems a little silly to me, wouldn't you rather pick up the probe than destroy it or wait ...

I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Just a little thought I had, Allow scan probes to be scooped into cargo bay. Leave them in space for their entire duration and they pop, scoop it up all nice and neat like after you've used it, save yourself...
