You appear to be running an EVE Launcher instance in the background. Also you can run the EVE Repair Tool in safe mode by doing "repair.exe --safemode" from the command line, which will hopefully fix the first issue.

If you still get the grey progress bar that downloads an update, you should try this: http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_559197.exe It's the installer for the latest version of the EVE Launcher.

The image you posted a link to is the update process that was in the "old" (v.1.32) version of the EVE Launcher, that shouldn't start up if you've successfully updated to the new EVE Launcher.
