If you get the MacBook Pro, keep in mind that you'll have to install Windows to be able to run EVE at decent framerates.

The new MacBook Pros should run EVE very well indeed. If you get extra RAM, make sure you don't buy it from Apple (they charge a hefty premium to install it).

*sigh* ... but Apple has not changed their supplier. The low-end and high-end GPU options alternate between NVIDIA and ATI in every other model.

That's odd, eh - in 1920x1200 with only my ship on the screen, my Mac Pro can't break 30 FPS. Perhaps it's an issue with the ATI Radeon HD4870. Either way I refuse to use the Mac client for anything but AFK-hauling. It's just really depressing.

I was dissapointed to note that even on a 'Nehalem' Mac Pro with ATI Radeon HD4870, the Mac port of EVE Online delivers 20-30 FPS on highest settings. Under Boot Camp, it never drops below 70 FPS. I know Cider is god-awful, but this? There must be...
