Of course to someone that is flying solo a small gang of 15-20 people is a blob. IMO basically if the list of people shooting you gets truncated on the killmail-that's a blob.

I'd say it depends on the T1 ship. For instance Recons and Covops have roles that no T2 fitted T1 ship can fill. T1 frigates die so much faster than AFs and Intys that I'd say go AF and Inty then train the skill--just be ready to lose your AF or I...
