1. Will EVE ever look as good as the screenshots? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Just to say, if you use the DX11 API for a game, it is extremely easy to make it backwards compatible all the way back to DirectX 9. Every DX11 game I know offers fallback modes, retaining most of the visual quality. However, 'converting to DX11@ ...

2. all 3 eve clients crashing after 1-2 hours, taking windows with them. - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
It sounds like to me that certain elements of the client are unoptimised. These place a great deal of stress on your system, uncovering underlying problems that would not normally be apparent. Try running a decent stress test on both CPU and GPU t...

3. Dual Video Cards - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Edited by: Craivr on 06/01/2010 09:45:43 Firstly, what differences do you get with the cards? Do you get corruption if you enable SLI for both cards (for a total of 4 GPUs) or do you get corruption with 1 card (2 GPUs)? If you disable one of t...

6. HDR and ATI Crossfire, visual corruption in asteroid belts. - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I'm not using any AA. Any suggestions other than clear cache or update to latest catalysts (a hassle, as I get massive corruption unless it's a totally clean driver install)? I try.

7. Problem with textures in 24b color mode, any workaround for this? - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Once your desktop is on 24bit, launch EVE, and when in game with 24 bit colour alt-tab out and max out mipmap detail in your GPU control panel (Catalyst Control Centre for ATI, dunno about Nvidia.) I try.

8. HDR and ATI Crossfire, visual corruption in asteroid belts. - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Edited by: Craivr on 22/08/2009 16:13:04 I have a 3870x2 at factory clocks, with Catalyst 9.6 . With the latest patch, stars near asteroids turn into huge, blindingly white orbs. The issue can be solved by disabling HDR, or disabling 1 GPU. An...

9. EVE texture compression - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Obviously, to save video memory, many textures in EVE are compressed (probably with DXT, as it's the only system I know of that retains compression in video memory). However, certain textures which should not have been compressed so heavily are be...

10. Graphic problem - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I had exactly this problem with EVE after Apocrypha. I found that the problem was to do with graphics driver updates not properly deleting the old drivers, which then ran in a huge mess with the new drivers. Download Driver Sweeper (google it), do...
