21. Project Discovery, karma damage - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The "drifter" lore is an artificial construct that will not disguise the fact that the player is doing a Mechanical Turk task. I realize the mini-game can be ignored and superficially would seem to have no significant aspect on the real game. Ho...

Blocking a player should apply to their entire account. Stop spam. WOW implemented this idea successfully 10 years ago.

I have never joined a corporation and done fine. If you are brand new, I would advise waiting before joining a corp. What I see in other characters is large numbers of corp hopping. It is not unusual to look at the employment history of a player ...

28. Project Discovery, karma damage - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
In case you missed it, the patch next week will feature Project Discovery , a real world crowd-sourcing effort to do some kind of biological pattern recognition task, kind of like Amazon Mechanical Turk. Players who participate will be paid in IS...

30. Bye bye watch lists - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think the main issue here is not really the watch lists, it's that EVE is already too pvp centric as it is and the watch list thing is disturbing the balance even more. I have a friend that just joined and he is basically terrified all the time...

The distribution of NPC pirates seems to be very uneven. For example, there are relatively few systems that have Angels in empire space, but in 0.0 they are the dominant rat, occupying over 900 systems compared with runner-up Guristas who occupy 6...

33. PVP PVE Europe America - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I saw an interesting statistic today concerning WOW servers. Apparently in the United States, PVE servers outnumber PVP servers 2 to 1. However, in Europe it is the reverse: PVP servers outnumber PVE by 3 to 2.

I suggest capping the number of posts a new player (<30 days) can make to local. Will help to prevent spam and scams. 99% of the characters I have to block are <30 days old. Should be a no-brainer. In fact, that I even have to post this i...
