There are a minimum value so the sig res/sensor strength that you scan size will be set to if you are below that value. I don't remember the exact value but shouldn't be too hard to dig up.

Most of the formulas has been generated from extensive testing and double checked several times by other players. It's not that difficult to generate a formula if you have enough data points. I have done it personally with both probe strength drop...

MWD is about getting to and from a place really fast, not about avoding damage (other than in moving out of range). There is a 3rd effect on increased signature radius. It makes you easier to probe down with scan probes. -------------------------...
