1. Processed materials supremely unprofitable - in Science and Industry [original thread]
I reached the same conclusion you did years ago, and resolved to export P0 instead of P1 since it showed so much more profit. P0 takes awhile to move, especially if you only sell them in your home system rather than a trade hub, but people will b...

3. Null Sec and Low Sec Mining Tactics - in Science and Industry [original thread]
Not sure what null sec mining is like, but there are a few asteroid belts that are 14.3+ AU away from the nearest celestial. If you mine in those belts, you won't pop up on d-scan (unless someone does a thorough sweep through the system and checks...

5. gas mining-WH or low sec? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
Low sec gas is all right, but it moves slowly. Your best bet is to sell locally at Jita prices, since gas takes up alot of space. However, valuable gas sites are highly competitive. And it's low sec. Prepare for some pew pew vs aggressive farmers.

6. Reducing ice volume: compress or reprocess? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
I believe compressed ice is only 10% volume of raw ice (so from 1000m^3 to 100m^3 per block). Would I be better off just reprocessing ice into minerals? My quick calculation says yes. Just wondering what other industrialists do with their ice? (I ...

7. What is the point of the jettison timer? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
To avoid jetcan spam. Jita and other hubs are bad enough as it is with the crap that people dump (MTUs, mobile depots etc).

8. Mining as a career - in Science and Industry [original thread]
While mining provides low isk/hr, it does provide a very good isk/effort ratio. You might make 20m per hr in high sec, but within that hour, you may only spend 5 minutes clicking on stuff. So really, you're earning 20m isk / 5 minutes of effor...

9. Why have hemo / hedbergite crashed? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
They used to command a 50-75% premium over high sec ores. I just recently checked on http://www.eve-calculator.com/mining/income_calculator/ore.html and they're now only 10% above Veldspar! There's absolutely no reason to venture out to low sec ...

11. Is it possible to find large volume ore asteroids in hisec? - in Science and Industry [original thread]
1) Mine in a high-sec pocket, or a lowly-populated region (e.g. Derelik). 2) I found that Plagioclase (sp?) asteroids have the highest maximum volume, compared to other high-sec asteroids. But it's worth less than Veldspar these days.

12. Low sec mining - in Science and Industry [original thread]
It's been about 6 months since I last played. Is low sec mining worthwhile? I just noticed that low / null sec ores got buffed? Or am I reading it wrong?

13. Reprocessing at POS - in Science and Industry [original thread]
I hope CCP takes a look at swapping the term 'reprocessing' with something else. 'Reprocessing' ores doesn't make sense, and isn't used as a term in the mining industry. Instead they should use the term 'refining'. For ships and modules, 'reproces...
